we came to play pool. with the 3-6pm deal it was $10 for a table, super worth. they also require an ID and $20 cash deposit

We had been to Fitz Roy another time during the day, and it was pretty good, but last night we had a really bad experience at this bar. We came after 8pm to get in line for a pool table, and the staff told us the wait would be 1-1.5 hrs. We were fine with waiting that long and decided to sit down, only after they charged us a mandatory coat check, even though other people had clearly brought their coats in. When we periodically went up to see how much longer it would be, the girls at the front were rude. We ended up waiting for over 4 hours for a table. The staff are clueless and should be more realistic and honest about wait times. When they eventually called to let us know a table was available, I was in the bathroom and did not answer my phone. When I came up to the front desk 2 minutes after they had called, they said they had given up our spot. It was absolutely miserable waiting there, the music was atrociously loud, they kept unnecessarily turning it up throughout the night, and we could barely hear one another. I would not recommend this place unless you’re going during the day.

This bar is an absolute mess, staff has no clue what they are doing or/and are being overworked. They forced us to pay for coat check , while I could see people who clearly had their jackets with them. Bouncers are genuinely incompetent and do not know how to de-escalate any situation, at one point one of the bouncers grabbed my friend’s sleeve and pulled her by it to which I reacted because that is assault.Our server was amazing and was doing her best but she is the only server there so things are missed. We were told there was a two hour max for the pool tables, multiple times to which we agreed, they allowed another group to come in to take our spot while still refusing to close the tab so we were charged for three hours of pool while they refused to give me back my ID and deposit. Just an absolute disaster, it wasn’t until one of the other guys came to advocate for us that they realized their mistake. They still made me pay for the extra hour that was never spoken about and the group who had taken our spot was nice enough to etransfer me the $15 owed, but that is extra work for us and horrendous customer service.
