Was there with a group of friends for comedy night, we were sat at a table in the back, in front of the little area in the back where comedians were chilling. We had difficulties hearing the show at some points, since we were so close to them. A server also picked up my bag and put it on the table, saying it was in the way, without asking me to move it first. Wait was long; portions were small, and drinks are expensive for pretty run of the mill stuff. For the show itself, of course, humor is subjective; but one of my friends was singled out for a joke starting with one comedian. At first, my friend tried to play along… but it became too much very quickly, with other comedians pilling on, and she was embarrassed for the rest of the show. We all had to reassure her after… :( Not a great first experience.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your evening were not as enjoyable as they should have been. Just to clarify, the comedy show itself is not produced by the restaurant. It is a special event hosted in collaboration with the Montreal Comedy Club, who organizes and manages the comedians and the performances. We provide the venue and work together with them to bring live comedy to the space. We understand that seating location can affect the ability to hear the show, and we’ll review the setup to improve the experience. We also apologize if the situation with your bag felt abrupt — our staff sometimes need to keep walkways clear for safety, but it should always be handled politely. We appreciate your feedback regarding service, wait times, portions, and pricing, and we will share it with our team as we continue improving. We hope you’ll give us another chance in the future for a better experience.

Been there for the first time. Nice bar, small stage. Tables too close to the stage. Problems with ventilation, had a weird odour. Some of comedians were good, some may even make you feel “special”, not in the good way. Edit: Definitely, the format is not for me. If you are ok to be humiliated in front of people - try it. PC: During the show I was repeatedly singled out and called “autistic” and “special” because I wasn’t reacting like others. That crossed a line for me. Audience participation should feel voluntary, not forced.

Hey Gary, First of all — thank you for coming out and for the honest review You’re absolutely right… our stage is intimate. We like to call it “VIP seating.” The comedians can see you laugh… or not laugh… or question your life choices in real time. It keeps everyone humble As for the ventilation and the weird odour — that’s on us, not part of the immersive comedy experience. We’re already looking into it so next time the only thing in the air is awkward punchlines. And regarding feeling “special” (not in the good way)… some of our comedians are equal-opportunity offenders. If they made you feel noticed, congratulations — you were part of the show. If they crossed a line, we genuinely appreciate the feedback and we’ll keep tightening up the lineup. We’d love to have you back so we can upgrade you. First drink’s on us next time — just remind us you’re Gary Thanks again for checking us out.

I had an amazing experience at Estrella, and a huge part of that was thanks to Josalyn. From the moment we were seated, she brought such warm energy, professionalism, and genuine care to our table. Josalyn is the kind of server who makes you feel truly welcome, not rushed, not overlooked — just perfectly taken care of. Her attention to detail, timing, and recommendations were spot on, and she made the entire experience feel effortless. Beyond being incredibly attentive, she has such a beautiful personality. Friendly, kind, confident, and thoughtful — she elevated the whole evening. You can tell she takes pride in what she does, and it shows in every interaction. It’s rare to come across service that feels this natural and sincere. Management should know that Josalyn is a true asset to your team. She represents Estrella beautifully and deserves recognition for the level of hospitality she delivers. Servers like her are what turn a good restaurant into a memorable experience. Highly recommend Estrella — and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Josalyn, you’re in great hands.
