Service was not great. I can say this because I had been there about 8 years ago and it enjoyed it but WOW, everything has gone downhill. We got there for our reservation and was told multiple times that we had to leave at a certain time because the place was going to be very busy with reservations. This kept going on even after we agreed. The server told us about drink specials. I ordered one. My family received their drinks and I had to wait 20 minutes for this margarita that had guava in it. We ordered tacos which were weirdly dry. It’s too bad because I love the decor but service and food really was bad.

I do recommend it. It's not The food is great and I do recommend it. It’s a must if you’re going to a show at Place des Arts, since they can be very fast. However, when you’re not in a rush, I would have appreciated a slower pace. I had five courses and was done in 30 minutes, when I had planned for 1.5 hours. It would help if they asked guests about their timing expectations, because the speed is great when you’re short on time, but not always what you want.

Such a great place! The food was all amazing and so fresh and tasty. We had 3 kids with us and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Jonah especially was fantastic. Thank you so much for having us!

This is A MUST for any taco lovers out there! I can’t emphasize enough how DELICIOUS and TASTEFUL the tacos are at Escondite! Some of the best I have ever eaten, and I have eaten a LOT of tacos over the years. The service is awesome too, friendly, helpful and easygoing. I highly recommend Escondite to anyone visiting Montreal, and McGill Uni. You just have to go and try it for yourself! Make your resos today!

Tried the tasting menu. Was all pretty good. Because we were running late for a concert, I really appreciated that the waitresses were able to process the bill and takeaway containers quickly.

We were visiting from Ontario and looking for authentic Mexican food with a great atmosphere (not a tourist trap) and Escondite was perfect. Fabulous fresh food, amazing wait staff and a fun atmosphere with other local foodies. Highly recommend!!

Went here for a birthday dinner a couple weeks ago. We had a great time! The food is good. Best to order several dishes for sharing. Really enjoyed the margarita! Thanks to Yona for being so attentive and friendly.

We stopped by here for lunch while walking around. My wife used to live in MTL and knows this spot. This did not disappoint. Fantastic Tacos and great for sharing! We got 3 different types, all were delicious! Staff was highly attentive and knowlegable! I can see why this place gets the accolades it does! Highly recommend

Overall, I enjoyed my time here. The atmosphere was welcoming and the place was nicely maintained. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was smooth. The location was also convenient and made the visit more enjoyable.

Excellent food and vibe. Drinks were fantastic. Yona was excellent and described every dish beautifully. We had the tasting menu, every bite was fantastic. I wish that I had taken photos of the food. Hard to pick a favorite bite but I loved the spicy beef taco.
