Great food. Good service. Great atmosphere
What guests say about Esca Gourmet Pizza + Bar
Esca Gourmet Pizza + Bar seems to offer a pleasant atmosphere, often attentive service, and generous portions, with several customers really enjoying the pizzas and the ambiance. However, a few reviews mention wait times, uneven food quality, and service that can sometimes be disappointing. It therefore seems like a good potential choice for a casual outing, but the experience may vary.

So me and my family don’t go out for dinner often and last night we decided to give eska a try. Made a reservation and went in. When we arrived we were sat and things started off good.We ordered drinks and an app and then when the drinks arrived we ordered our mains. 15min go by and our spinach dip arrives. Great I’m starving. Take a bite and immediately notice something is off. Not Only in the color (which looked like baby poop all yellowish brown) but the flavor was not appetizing at all. When the server came back we asked her if this is how it was supposed to be…. This is where the night turned. With attitude the server explains that’s how it’s supposed to be. Well I’ve had a lot of spinach dips and never anything like that. Sure whatever. I don’t want any of it anymore. Then we waited 45min for our mains. Me and the kid got pizza wife got a rainbow salad with chicken. My Pizza was undercooked and my wife chicken tasted and smelled like salmon.. I wanted to bring it to our servers attention but she was too busy talking to the kitchen staff and talking on her cellphone to deal with us. So we finish eating the small amount we ate. Push our plates to the side and wait, and wait, and wait for over 20 minutes till finally I had enough and waved down another server and asked for our bill and a box for the salmon chicken and the pizza. Our original server finally shows up with the bill and a debit machine, doesn’t ask us how our food was or anything. Instead drops the debit machine on the table and walks away. Absolutely disgusting attitude and ridiculous service. I won’t be back. And to our server who has worked there pretty wel since that place opened… if you don’t like your job anymore quit because people don’t deserve that when they are going out and spending over $150 for 3 people. We won’t be returning.
Great upscale restaurant. Lovely atmosphere, great services, food was amazing. Prices match with what you get. Highly recommend.
Hosted my daughter's 13th birthday dinner party there last night and it was PERFECT!! I was able to communicate my ideas with them well before the date and they were so accommodating in my wishes, trying to make this grown up moment special for my beautiful girl and it was everything I hoped for her. The food, staff, atmosphere, everything, amazing as always but this one was special and I'm so grateful to the restaurant for their role in making it so!
Very disappointed, had much higher expectations for their pizza as it seem to be the start item. Tasted like cardboard, food was very cold, service was not fun; waited too way to give my order and brought the machine to pay and put in front of me without asking me and same for the bills. Seem like they wanted us out of there asap! I will not go back.
Amazing place with really good food! The on tap beer selection was impressive! The staff were friendly, courteous, and super fast at serving our huge table!
Had dinner here tonight, it was our first time. We were looking for a quieter vibe and it was perfect as we had an early reservation. Our server Rachel’s service was 20/10. Extremely kind and attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed when we took time to decide what we wanted. We didn’t know the size of the pizza based on photos we’ve seen, so we ended up with a lot of leftovers as they are large pizzas😅. Again, Rachel saw that we had a lot of leftovers so right away when she noticed we were done, asked if we needed anything else, and had the pizza boxes to go without us even having to ask. We couldn’t decide if we wanted steak, but had heard rave reviews for the pizzas, so went with that. They also had a Valentines menu, but I appreciated that they had their full regular menu tonight too. The pizza was super yummy! The garlic parm fries were good too! Would have loved them a little more on the crispy side but the flavour was spot on. Overall our Valentine’s dinner was lovely.
Food was amazing. Very generous portions. The service was excellent and welcoming. Great music.
Went with a couple girlfriends for lunch, two of us are celiac and specifically chose Esca because it has a good reputation and supposedly catered to gluten free diets well. While they did accommodate our request for a GF option with the spin dip (yay!), I was really disappointed when the salad I ordered came with a lot of very wilted and rotting lettuce. They readily replaced it with a pizza ($21) with a gluten free crust (+$6). The bill for 1/3 of a spin dip, 1 pizza, and 1 cider was $50. Worst part is, my friend and I had a reaction to the food, suggesting there was cross contact or gluten contamination somewhere on the line. Judging by the nastiness of my salad, I would say that the cooks on line were not at their best. Who would plate a salad like that? Really disappointed. None of us will be back.
