Food was great. When entering the restaurant, staff was friendly and welcoming. Problem was the waitress. Blond hair and evey young, did not know how to show politeness and respect to the customers. She refused to speak English to my children and I, but when my boyfriend came in from finishing his cigarette, she suddenly rembered how to speak English. Not once did she smile. My son asked for 5 coffees, but she only brought 4 (maybe she missed understood). After taking our orders, she did not say thank you or showed any kind of kindness. When she brought our food to the table, we had to ask for the toast that came with our meals. When asked for the toast, she rudely said she knew she had to bring the toasts. Not once did she ask if we needed anything else like ketchup. Not once did she ask how the food was. Even though the restaurant is not busy, she was egar to get us to leave. We were never asked if we needed a refill on the coffees or if there was anything else we would like. The second she saw we had finished our plates, she quickly came to the table asking how many bills. After the response was made, it was a minute for her to bring it to the table wanting the bill to be paid right away. The bill was paid right away. Again, no response with a thank you or have a good day. She then hovered around the table. Once we were leaving she stopped me in the door way asking about the service. Speaking French to her explained the service was just ok and could have been better. She quickly went on saying she was not happy about the tip. Being blocked in the restaurant to be interrogated is not ideal. A bill over $100 was paid with very little service and no respect should not expect any tip. She then went on telling me how she needs money and relies on her tips was not going to get me to give her anything more. She even asked me why everyone at the table did not leave her a tip. At this moment, I spoke English and wished HER a good day. Loved the food and did not have any problems with any other staff member, except for the waitress herself. Its sad the young adults of today want more money for doing less work. The more polite, respectful, kind and caring the server, will ALWAYS make a bigger tip. For the food, really great. The coffee was good. Just sometimes people in charge do not know how the staff treats the customers and that alone can damage the reputation of s great restaurant.
