Very nice and cozy restaurant! We visited from Toronto and tried their classic poutine. It was very yummy, I would recommend adding more cheese curds if you’re ordering! Also, the portion sizes are HUMONGOUS!! 1 plate can be shared by 2 people! Very nice atmosphere, and the servers are very nice!

I always have a good experience at Dunn’s Famous and this visit was no different. I got a salad and it was actually so delicious. What really stood out though was our server — I unfortunately forget his name, but he was working overnight and had tattoos. I told him I have a gluten intolerance and he was super reassuring and made me feel really comfortable ordering. He went above and beyond for our table, gave great recommendations for the smoked meat sandwiches, and handled everything so well even while dealing with some difficult customers. Amazing service honestly. He definitely deserves recognition. Will 100% be back.

Amazing smoked meat. Don’t sleep on the fried rice! Great food and atmosphere with a lot of history The wait staff were really nice, but we had to wait a while to get our order in and for our check. Maybe they were understaffed? It was a game night and they weren’t that busy when we got there but there was a long line when we were leaving

I love this place : service is great, food is delicious and omg the cheesecake... What a treat. It is a place full of history and great food but I mainly go because service makes you feel like you are a part of the family.

A delicious smoked meat sandwich as always. Service was prompt and friendly. The only negative observation would be that the washroom is in need of a reno/makeover. Highly recommended for lunch.

This game is a recommendation from our hotel staff. We thought it was okay. The server was very friendly and nice. The food was nothing exciting. The hot chicken was good, I upgraded my fries for poutine fries. They were okay. The penne chicken alfredo was a bit tasteless, needed seasoning.

I dine at this restaurant once per year in March. I happened to come across the previous year's bill a couple of weeks before my yearly visit and so decided to keep it to compare prices since I always order the exact same meal. The price increased by 10% in one year! The worst part, the serving size had decreased. The coleslaw bowl was half full. Coleslaw!

Ward so much for so long about it. It's really worth it. Portion are huge and so good. Had my first Reuben sandwich and latshka ( not sure how to spell it). Reuben sandwich was awesome.

Dunn's Famous is known for smoked meat sandwiches. On rue Metcalfe just off rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, this restaurant is open late and offers relatively large portions. Good for takeout. This is ideal for people who come to Montréal for partying, but ordinary people can still enjoy high quality food. C'est delicieux!

This was my third visit to Dunn’s in as many visits to Montreal over the years and they NEVER fail to impress me!!! And this time, I came with a large group (12 of us) and they didn’t only accommodate us, but the waiter was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect! WE. LOVE. DUNN’S!!!! Thank you again!!!!

So me and 4 other friends visited they got mine and 1 other friend orders wrong then attacked us and yelled at my friend saying “what is that” then 15 minutes later they gave me and my friend our food which was made like shit. Also didn’t come over once to refill our drinks. P.S they served alcohol to a minor so…

Great old school cafe atmosphere. They even have cherry cola tall boys. The smoked meat was juicy and oh so tender. The poutine was smoking hot and the curds melted into delicious gravy. There wasn't much of a line up and it moved pretty fast. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

There is a waiter at this location that truly makes the service wonderful, his name is Steve, find Steve! Amazing with kids, knows his menu inside and out, knows his town, attractions and is truly the first resemblance I’ve seen to top notch customer service in years! Food, at a smoke house I went with the Reuben, it’s loaded with smoked meats on rye bread with the fixings, simple but exactly what you expected and fills my bottomless pit just as expected. I partnered the Reuben with the Dunns poutine and a beer. Dessert, The in house strawberry cheese cake was rich, but nice for the sweet tooth as I don’t always eat much sweets. Finished the whole piece with the wife and wasn’t left feeling over done. Steve if you read this, you’re solid, keep being you buddy. (Everlee says she will beat you in an arm wrestle in a little while!) Note: For those staffing the kitchen, the food was prompt, tasty, hot and delicious! The back bone to any good dining, Together your establishment is one I will continue to visit and spread to word about.

Needed to grab a late night dinner after catching the Habs game and was happy to see Dunn's is open super late. I got the Super Combo Smoked Meat for takeout and it was a massive portion size for only about $30 after tax. The food tasted great. I'd say this was probably my second favourite smoked meat meal during my stay in Montreal. The meat was a little too lean for my liking, would have probably preferred it to be a little bit more fatty (kind of felt more like a pastrami sandwich). But the portion size was huge, flavours were great, and value for money pretty good. The coleslaw in particular was delicious. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Montreal!

Unfortunately we weren’t able to try Dunn’s. Despite the restaurant being over 50% empty and having THREE available high chairs for children they didn’t want to seat our child at any of the available tables that could accommodate a high chairs. We ended up going to Shwartz instead.
