Nice Pakistani restaurant with reasonable price. Medium range. Small menu but food is fresh.

Amazing food, big portions and great service with Sarah . I highly recommend this place. 10/10
Fresh food and meat quality is also good
Ordered 2 chicken tikka rolls which were very decent however the biryani rice we ordered was just unbelievably bad, it was clumpy and overdone with orange food coloring, there was absolutely no taste to it at all, it was also soaked in the bowl it was served in which proves To me it was microwaved before serving it. It was honestly comparable to the rice sold at dollarama in a pouch.
Good food, great flavors, clean
⭐⭐⭐ Mother’s Day visit – solid basics, but needs seasoning and menu expansion We visited Dera Express Restaurant in Laval for Mother’s Day and ordered a variety of dishes including chicken and vegetarian samosas, butter chicken, karahi chicken, chicken seekh kabab, fish pakora, naan, raita, and strawberry kulfi. Overall, the food was fresh and portions were decent, but many items felt like they were missing salt and proper seasoning, which made the flavors feel a bit flat. The butter chicken was good, creamy and enjoyable, but needed more depth and better-balanced spices. The karahi chicken needs major improvement, as it lacked the bold, authentic spice profile expected from a proper karahi. The chicken seekh kabab also needed more seasoning and hotter spices, and didn’t fully reflect traditional Pakistani-style flavor. The fish pakora was fresh with good texture, but also lacked salt and seasoning, and the raita was quite plain. On the positive side, the samosas were good, with a better-than-average crust compared to other places, though they still needed more seasoning in the filling and would be better if they were less oily. The naans were well baked and not doughy, which was a great point. One downside is that they only offer plain naan, and it would really improve the menu if they added options like garlic naan, cheese naan, and chili garlic naan in the future to give more variety. The staff was friendly and polite, but they seemed unprepared for dine-in service. Our food was initially brought in a paper bag instead of being plated, and we had to request plates and utensils, which made the experience feel a bit disorganized. The ambiance feels more like a fast-food place than a dine-in restaurant, so it’s better suited for takeout. The strawberry kulfi was a nice finish, but overall the experience could be improved with better seasoning consistency, more authentic spice levels, and expanded naan options for a better dining experience. Overall, I still recommend but I am expecting improvements in next weeks!!!
I ordered the chicken tikka roll, very tasty I recommend and the service is very good. I haven’t tasted the bowls or other dishes so I don’t know if the rest is good but it deserves better reviews for the price of everything 🙌
I went for special 50 percent everyday with my husband but the chicken karahi dish is worthless and worse of it all. The prices are reaching the sky especially being a pakistani and indian cuisine never ever going back to the laval restaurant. The dine in sitting area isn't clean and tidy and not a comfortable spot to enjoy dining in the restaurant. Please work on your settings 🙏 thanks. They should hire more workers very slow and lame. One worker was serving everyone.
Very disappointed. First the quality is not great and the meat ratio is way to low. I understand ordeing from a restaurant is usually low, but this is new level of low. The taste is not great either. Don't ever order from there !
Found hair in my beef kebab bowl. The butter chicken had no taste. Very disappointed.
Quality of the food not very good and also quantity of food very small according to the price. It was not even worth it for 50% of price. I am not going to order next time.
Long long wait, briyani was not fresh on the last day of offer may 9th. 50% offer good price for the food quality. Otherwise not worth of wasting time for long wait & quality of food.
Long wait and bad food
Please dice your tomatoes smaller. Your door is very heavy
I'll start with the food. We ordered a few things on their menu: - Reshmi Kabab and Naan - Samosas - Chana Samosas - Chicken tikka rolls - Chilli chicken bowl - Malai chicken bowl - Chicken tilka bowl - Butter chicken Poutine Reshmi kabab and naan - Not good. Wouldn't order. They gave us a small plastic box with 5-6 pieces of chicken pieces and a naan. No sauce, nothing. Dried kabab pieces in a small plastic box. So we exchanged that with butter chicken, which was still not great tbh. Chicken Samosas were way too oily. Not sure whats going on. And barely any filling Channa Samosa was actually decent. I appreciated the serving size Chicken tikka rolls hit the spot. They were good! The bowls, all of them - I didn't understand the concept. Rice with mayos on them, salad and a few chicken pieces. Desi dishes dont seem to fit the bowl concept, not in this way at least. You have to elevate the taste. Be a bit more creative, try different things, different flavors. These were incredibly disappointing. Very mediocre. The butter chicken poutine was highly disappointing. They gave us a total of maybe 15 fries with a very sad sauce on top. What is that? Also, we were waiting to order tikka rolls for almost an hour yesterday, and the woman in the front just told everyone they're out of stock with everything except bowls.... Disappointing, truly.
Absolutely terrible , i waited for 3 hours in line , and when it was about to be my turn , the food ran out. Understaffed and unprepared , isnt built well to accomodate a lot of people.
Long wait times (cuz of the 50% off obv every person from Laval/Mtl was there), but the food was good for the price. They shouldve overestimated the amounts of people that would come, because not much was in stock. Very good service.
Tried 3 different items at 50% off, though I'm not entirely satisfied and the restaurant newly opened, I'm not gonna leave low ratings. A restaurant has room to improve & evolve. 1- Chana Samosa: It's westernized - large chunks/ cubes of cucumber, tomatoes, onions (instead of finely diced). No coriander, nor green chutney nor chopped green chillies. The chana is bland, they're of the colour of canned chickpeas, no masala. 4/10 2- Paya - It's cooked properly but unfortunately had a pungent smell, partly masked by the the various spices. Why? I found the interdigital scent gland which is located between the lamb hooves had not been removed. So even if the lamb trotters had been cleaned properly, not removing the scent gland means the soup will have a foul smell. 5/10 3- Nihari. This one was good, but wasn't topped with green chillies, coriander nor ginger strips. 8/10 4- Naan. If you're used to Indian types of naan (fluffy and moist inside), you may find this naan sort of too thick, bready, bland and a bit on the dry side. It almost has taste of mass-produced commercial naan bread that's been heated (it's my perception). Since it's a regional variation of naan, and an acquired taste, I won't rate the naan. 5- It's a "Pakistani" restaurant that serves Poutine, biryani rice that's being topped with pickled green olives, pickled peppers, sweet corn (that's more like Mexican influence) and drinks like chilled lemon tea (a Southern US beverage). But no Masala Chai, Kashmiri Chai nor Mango Lassi to go along with the samosas, chaat, pakora or naan rolls. Staff members: Give them a bonus for the relentless effort they were putting in to serve the endless queue of customers! I've been in the line for nearly 2 hours and wanted to sit down, meanwhile the staff worked non-stop with no rest to serve customers who are ordering like 10+ items each. I could see they helped each other to maintain the efficiency. They also remained cool & polite despite those few shallow entitled customers who seem to be haggling/ complaining/ want more of something.
Came here today excited to try a new Pakistani restaurant, but unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. There were only 3 people ahead of me in line, yet it took 45 minutes just to place my order, and another 25 minutes to actually receive the food. What I don’t understand is how the food still came out cold after such a long wait. Nothing tasted fresh, the bowls were honestly not good, and the portion sizes made no sense either. Even at half price, I wouldn’t recommend wasting your time here. As for the staff, they were definitely friendly, but it was clear they were not trained properly. Everyone looked confused and overwhelmed, and the whole place felt very disorganized. I was genuinely excited to try some Pakistani style food, but sadly this did not come close to what I expected.
The best ever boals of my life
Very bad service
So first of all, it was a busy day and it took me over 2 hours to order and get my order but I don’t mind that since it was very busy bc of the 50% off. The employees were kinda eh maybe bc it was a busy day and service took way too long. The food itself, is not worth it. The quantities are very little as in the rice in the bowls. The advertising is deceiving and the food taste bland especially for Pakistani food. I wouldn’t really recommend but try it if you want to.
Very very bad
Amazing food!! Really tasty and good quality! Will go back!
Bad service , same person taking order preparing food, one hour waiting in queue
