Reviews / Ratings for Décarie Hot Dogs
My dad bought me since I was a little girl and I have bought my kids. I love the food. Definitely a must !!!!
Look, I first came here when I was twelve and I’m like maybe 57 now I forget so it’ll always be close to my heart. I’ve brought my kid here when we’re on our way to Yiayias. Even my lady came here with me when she first moved to town and trust me when I tell you she doesn’t usually eat fast food but she did it for me. That’s love. I know what this place is and I know what I’m getting and I know how to order and the whole deal. I get a couple of steamies and some fries and maybe a coke. I’ll always stop by when I’m in the old neighbourhood. I wish only blessings and the best to this hard working family that has fed us all for so many years.
Classic hotdog joint, nothing has changed since I used to go there when I was a kid. Now I take my own kids and they love it.
Best steamies in montreal!
Is this a new thing that it's closed on sundays? I don't remember that. Went by today for nothing.. Sundays are such a popular day for people to get stuff like this. I'm surprised
Greats food very friendly
Was better in my college years nothing really change exept they take interact now my last visit they serve me cold hot dogs and the poutine sauce still taske the same in 1999 i will go again. **update i when again and the serve me well and hot meal thanks**
Dis is a family run O’skool counter serve joint, with barstool sittings that resemble the classics. Shame that they don’t serve fish’n’chips no more, but the affordable hotdogs, greasy burgers and extra dried chips alongside other blue collar friendly menu items, oh and the Mexican coca will bring you back to the pre 2000s. No need to come all the way, but good for a quick nibble if you’re in the area.
No services. Poutine sauce, too liquid and without taste. Servers pitch your meal on the table. There have ton of other place better.
I used to absolutely love Decarie Hot Dog. It was one of those go to spots I’d recommend without hesitation, especially for a classic poutine and hot dog. Unfortunately, over time, the quality has really started to drop, and my most recent visit was genuinely disappointing. I ordered a poutine, and right away it was clear something was off. There simply wasn’t enough sauce, which made the fries incredibly dry honestly, it was almost shocking. A good poutine should be rich, saucy, and comforting, but this one missed the mark completely. The fries themselves weren’t great either; they lacked the crispness and freshness I used to expect from this place. The hot dog was another letdown. It barely had the condiments I specifically asked for, which took away from the overall experience. When you order something so simple, the basics really matter, and unfortunately, those details were overlooked. What makes this experience especially sad is that Decarie Hot Dog is such an iconic spot. It’s the kind of place that holds a lot of nostalgia for many people, myself included. Seeing the quality drop this much is disappointing, because it used to be so consistently good. I really hope this was just an off day and not the new normal. I’d love to see this place return to the level it once had, because it truly deserves its reputation. Right now, though, the experience didn’t live up to what it used to be.
Been eating here all my life, the last at least 4 times the inside of my steamy has been cold and the gravy is so garlicy I had to Google today and the answer was that they changed it 2 years ago. BUT WHY!!!! It was perfect and now just disapointing. I'll likely not order again. Steamies are supposed be STEAMY, not ice cold in the middle. It's a horrible contrast to the warm soft buns. Sorry not sorry. It needed to be said. If you can see my notes, also 45 orders! That was my last sadly
20 year and counting eating Poutine here and still taste the same! Best poutine in MONTREAL hands down.
Staff is very rude and arrogant. You make mediocre hot dogs, please get off your high horse.
Best original poutine in the world. Best gravy, best cheese, best fries. Enough said
