Don't miss this restaurant!!! Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is joyous, the service and the food was absolutely outstanding—but it was John who made the evening truly unforgettable-he is EXPERT!!! All his recommendations were exceptional. I'm amazed that even though this restaurant is busy and well known, it always felt like an experience curated just to you-honestly, it’s rare to find such attention to detail, extraordinary meals and beautiful service. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. If you are in Montreal, Damas is an absolute must!

Really enjoyed Damas. Good was good. I found the tasting menu pricey for what we got. With wine and 15% tip it was 300$ per person. Next time I would opt for à la carte options.
The food here was absolutely stellar, and definitely one of the top restaurants in a week long visit to Montreal. The hummus shawarma was exceptional, and the mixed grill for two is definitely worth it, especially the shish taouk, lamb rack, and filet mignon kebab. The smoked eggplant puree with the lamb was chef’s kiss. Definitely come here while in Montreal, but get a reservation.
The food is amazing as usual I recommend you to visit the place 😋
Exquisite food, excellent service. Our waiter Nick is a real pro. Every dish is expertly prepared, cold and warm mezzes are great, the mixed grill superb, seasoning and cooking is perfect, the sides and sauces fantastic. Expensive dinner, worth every penny.
We had a lovely dinner at Damas, the experience was amazing - the cocktails are incredible! It was my first time having Syrian food, and I honestly can’t wait to come here again.
The food, the service and the ambiance is amazing. We had a variety of drinks and food and nothing disappointed. The service was expectional and Theophan (hopefully I spelt his name right) gave amazing service as the main waiter. Cant wait to go back to Damas next time im in Montreal.
I went there for my husband’s birthday, and the experience was amazing. The waiter was incredibly kind and attentive, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was just perfect. At the end, they surprised us with a small dessert and a tea to celebrate my husband’s birthday, which made the whole experience even more special. Overall, it was a 100% wonderful experience. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.
Food is good but a little expensive
Amazing!! Came here for dinner with my husband while visiting Montreal and everything about our experience was wonderful! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the service was fantastic. We ordered the tasting menu and every dish was delicious. You can tell how much thought and care is put into creating each dish. I am not the most familiar with Syrian food but our servers kindly explained each dish to us which made it very accessible and informative. Each server we interacted with was incredibly kind and attentive. And I can’t emphasize enough how good the meal was. I would very highly recommend visiting Damas!
Amazing food and really nice service. Our waiter knew the menu inside out. Cool interior too. Just a little slow between courses, but overall a great night out.
In my opinion, this is the best restaurant in Montreal. Food and service is amazing. It's one of those fancy restaurants that doesn't skip on portion sizes either, you basically roll out of the place because the food is so filling. If I won the lottery I would eat here every day.
Big thank to the staff and special thank to George who made our experience just excellent
Phenomenal Food & Extraordinary Service!! My partner & I had never tasted Syrian cuisine before so we both decided to try the tasting menu and we were blown away by the whole experience. Such unique flavours! We will be back!
OVERRATED, FOOD WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING, Can’t believe this place has so much success and then you get to leave a tip of 50$ for being scammed 🤣🤣🤣 I wished I never went there 😪 its probably just an instagram plebicited place, don’t waste your time and money there
Good place.
I am truly blown away by the service, atmosphere, and quality of food of this restaurant. I’ve been to restaurants all across the world and Alexis is truly the best, most professional and patient server I’ve ever come across. If I could give him this restaurant more than 5 stars I would. Truly exceptional on every level.
The only thing better than the food was the service.
Absolutely outstanding. Nico was our server and he was great. We got the chef’s tasting menu with the cocktail pairing. My wife says it was the best meal she’s ever had. I’ve been wanting to come here for years and this definitely met all our expectations.
The food was so comforting and delicious. Really well made, bold flavours and definitely bigger portions than we expected. Very beautifully decorated, great service as expected. We usually order desert but we were so full that we decided to go back another day to try that menu out. Overall, very good experience. Would definitely come back!
Incredible food and top notch service
We went to Damas to celebrate a birthday this weekend and had such a wonderful lunch. We were lucky enough to have the incredible Tessie as our waitress. Her warm energy, beautiful personality and friendly suggestions made our first experience at Damas nothing short of amazing. We decided to go for a 3 course meal because we absolutely wanted dessert, but we would’ve easily been more than satisfied with 2 courses as the portions are extremely generous. We started with their akawi and lamb fatayer, as well as their lamb kibbeh nayyeh, had the ribeye with the ottoman eggs and the shish taouk for our main courses and for dessert (there’s always room for dessert!) we chose the halva french toast as well as the classic halawet el jebn. The presentation of every plate was breathtaking, as you can see below. The flavours are so well thought out, the meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection & their crispy potatoes will have you pushing your limits for one more bite. The most surprising part for me was that, despite the very generous portions, we didn’t even get a to go box because of how good the food was. It’s one of those places you’re planning your next visit before you even finish eating. It’s really THAT good.
My new favourite restaurant in MTL! Delicious food, great service, well presented and big portion sizes. Flavours were incredible. Mocktails were tasty 👏🏼
We visited Damas on April 6 as a party of 4. Ambiance: The restaurant is very large, nearly 4 whole rooms. It’s beautifully decorated, quite warm and inviting. I wouldn’t say it’s cozy, nor would I say it’s an overtly elegant vibe. Service: Friendly but distant. Food was explained as it came, but none of our servers seemed particularly passionate about the food. Plates were changed with each service. Nothing that added or detracted from our visit. Food: What can I say about the food? Damas offers elevated middle eastern cuisine that would wow those who have not had very much of it. The mezzes were good, but not better than mezzes served by any good Syrian (or Lebanese or Jordanian) restaurant, including a breakfast spot. The hot mezzes were good, but not ground breaking. Flavours were not elevated, they were just solid representations of the standard (cumin, Aleppo pepper, yogurt, etc.) Most damning was the meat - we ordered the filet mignon medium rare and received it medium, the lamb medium and received it well done. At a restaurant charging these prices, this was quite unacceptable. Furthermore, for a restaurant charging these prices and presenting itself as being high end, the pace at which our dishes came out was overwhelming. We ordered a total of 10 dishes. We received our cold mezzes as a pair. Very quickly after we began to eat, 3 hot mezzes appeared. And very shortly after that, another 4 hot dishes! There was no pause between plates, which made us feel very rushed and anxious about the food becoming cold. We would’ve appreciated more thoughtful coursing of the dishes and more time to enjoy each dish, without it becoming cold. Overall, Damas offers a decent dining experience at what feels like rather exorbitant, fine dining prices. Service and ambiance are nothing to write home about. The food is not the best representation of the true breadth and depth of Syrian cuisine, but it may wow those who are not from the region.
The food was truly delicious. The prices are higher compared to other restaurants, but the quality makes it totally worth it. It’s perfect if you want to celebrate something special. I loved the dessert, especially because I had never tried ice cream like that before. The service was also excellent—I would definitely come back.
