I was visiting Montreal for the day and wanted a good poutine while I was there and found Crusty's Downtown has an optimal location near the Omni-Hotel. Stopped in around 9PM and found it feels like more of a take-out oriented space but they do have a few tables to sit at. They have a nice menu selection, quick service and the classic poutine was delicious. They also have some burgers on the menu that look awesome, I'm going to have to try one of those next time!
Reviews / Ratings for Crusty's Downtown
I normally don’t leave reviews with such low ratings but, this place calls for it unfortunately. You walk in and it has a vibe but there’s no one there to keep up said vibe. You place your order on a kiosk and wait for someone to bring out your food. What was ordered? Beef Bacon Burger, Mozzarella Burger, Fries, and Mac & Cheese. Both burgers were lukewarm at the most. They felt like the beef patties were reheated on a stove. The fries were not hot and fresh. They were closer to a semi warm and soggy taste. The Mac & Cheese wasn’t flavorful at all. Closer to tasting like buttered noodles if anything. The only taste of cheese was the top layer. I really wanted to give this place a great rating but, that’s out the window. Crustys if you’re reading this, please reach out and actually listen to your customers.
Very unassuming but SO great!! This review is late, I visited in January but I just remembered the name of this place and thought I should leave a review based on what I remember. The burger was absolutely delicious and so were the fries! The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I wish I took pictures of the interior of the place, it’s got a great vibe, cozy and trendy.
The food is decent, but its NOT worth the price. The workers were chill, but didnt do much to serve us. Atmosphere is hilarious as the same song played over and over and over.
I am writing to formally complain about an issue I experienced with my recent order. I placed my order using the machine and selected cash as the payment method. I received an order confirmation from the machine, which clearly indicated that my order had been successfully placed. After waiting approximately 35 to 40 minutes, I approached a staff member to ask about my order. I was first told that they had not received it. After checking, the staff member then informed me that my order had not been prepared because I had not paid yet. This explanation is unacceptable. There was no cashier available at the time, and I was instructed to place my order using the machine. I followed the process exactly as directed and received confirmation, so I reasonably expected my order to be prepared. Due to this delay and confusion, I did not receive my food at all and had to return to work without eating. This caused significant inconvenience and frustration. I kindly request that you review this matter and clarify your procedures regarding cash payments made through the machine to ensure that other customers do not experience the same issue.
Fake advertising using AI generated images of their products !!! Do not trust the pictures. I don't recommend The burger in the image was supposed to include tomatoes and lettuce.
Place was empty but service way 200% We were just popping in before a movie at Ciné Musée. Fast service and GREAT FOOD. I ordered the honey Siracha chicken burger. DELISH. Fries were tops as well. Plus for all the record/vinyl nerds out there, they are right bellow Montreal’s iconic Cheap Thrills record shop!!
