I will start by saying that it appears that the waiting staff was doing their best. There was so much staff there, but they were all tripping over each other. The biggest issue seems to be the lack of organization from management. We had a reservation for 1pm. Table for 4. We were sat at 1:40. There were 2 tables ahead of us in line, and no one came over to see, speak, or even acknowledge us. When we were seated, our order was taken pretty quickly. I had ordered an April 89 crepe with a side of hashrowns. The food came 32 minutes after ordering, and the crepe came half raw. See photo for reference. It was a pool of mush with the cream and bananas that had turned brown. It is quite frankly a health concern which I will be reporting through the proper channels. The hashbrowns were so dry. Leather like to be honest. The waiter ask how it was, I showed him my plate, and he was visibly disheartened. I refused a new plate as my stomach was turned at this point. The manager came over huffing and puffing and put a bag of muffin mix on the table "to make up for the plate". Come to find out they were giving the mix out to everyone. All to say, it still cost me over $50 for the literal 4 bites of food I had and my daughter's children's breakfast which was $8.99. She drowned it in ketchup because it was also dry, but she was hungry after waiting so long. I still tipped the waiter, as he did all he could. I am hopeful it goes to him. As long as the manager/owner, (whom ever the short man is running around like a chicken with his head cut off) is still working there, I cannot see this place thriving. This is the 2nd encounter like this we have had, with a 2 year span betwen. I always give a place the benefit of the doubt and a 2nd chance. I will NEVER step foot in this place again. I will be reporting them to health authorities. Save your money.
What guests say about Cora Déjeuners
Cora Déjeuners in Gatineau receives many very positive comments for courteous, fast, and attentive service, with frequent mentions of certain servers and the warm welcome. The food is often described as delicious, fresh, and well presented, with generous portions and good coffee. However, a few customers report long delays, a lack of organization, and dishes that are sometimes cold or poorly prepared. In short, the experience seems very inconsistent: a good choice if the service is on point, but there is a risk of waiting and uneven quality.

We were a big group and they supported us very well without a reservation. The waitress was very helpful.
I really enjoyed the place, and the vibe. They saussages are great. Service kind slow. But everhing was fine
Efficient and courteous
Quality of the food is mediocre
It was just awesome
Went in for breakfast with my daughter, took over 30 mins to get her smoothie, was never asked for a top up on my coffee, had to ask for more, after waiting over 45 minutes still no food, I walked out without even yet receiving my food paying my whole bill by choice and left a tip, as it was the last $$ this place will ever see from me. This place needs to reconsider its training, staffing and overall customer service. After walking out I went directly over to Ben and Florentine, my daughter had her smoothie in less than 7 mins, I was asked twice before receiving my meal for a coffee top up, from the time I ordered to my first bite, took 20 mins, place was busy but staff is engaged and prompt in service. This Cora is a no go for me in thr future.
super service!!!
Super service Francis !!!!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Good service ever
The waitress Elisa was excellent. And the coffee was the best coffee in the region 😊
My husband and I had a great time at this restaurant. The staff were very friendly, our food came to us quickly and was warm. Our server had no problem accommodating our specific order. The restaurant was mostly empty, but it didn’t feel gloomy.
The food is always constantly good and the service was top notch. Most breakfast places I have to ask for ketchup, jam and even a top up of hot coffee. All of these were done without even asking for it.
Had a wonderful experience at Cora! The spinach omelette was fresh, fluffy, and perfectly seasoned, and the crepe was light, delicious, and beautifully presented. Great flavors, generous portions, and friendly service — definitely a spot I’d come back to for breakfast or brunch!
Fabulous service! Delicious food!
Wonderful experience! Service was great!
delicious!
Would not recommend ordering on Doordash, definitely not same packaging and presentation as when in person. The potatoes could also use some work, though that might be because we are all used to the crispy less healthy potatoes from all other brunch spots... Though as you can notice, I still manage to nearly finish the whole thing 😁
The worst Cora I've ever been to. We waited almost an hour for a table even though there were plenty available and several other diners were leaving. I understand the kitchen might be busy, but waiting standing up is worse than waiting at a table with a coffee. The staff was apathetic.
