I like this place a lot. First, the food is really excellent, carefully prepared, nicely served and very tasty. It's a nice french-style restaurant, no unnecessary chi-chi but in style.It feels homy while being elegant. The pricing is very reasonable, with a $32 menu to start with. Very important: It is not loud and you can actually have a conversation! The tables are not crowded and the ceilings are high. Very pleasant service, too! It's really one of my favourites!

A perfect neighborhood bistro. The food was on par, the wine, $60!, so reasonable, atmosphere was exactly what you would expect. I would take customers here for dinner or a date night. Just lovely.

A quintessential Montreal stalwart, this is the kind of dining that I think of when I envision this great city. I was wondering how a restaurant can be open for 54 years. The answer? A well-curated menu of French classics with a Montreal spin. House made charcuterie and terrines. Excellent service and a true bistro atmosphere full of locals revelling in food and friendship. We wanted to try it all and ordered too much including the country terrine, racalette, risotto and bouillabaisse with a sauce that was simply melt-in-my mouth divine. I can’t wait to dine at LC every time I visit Montreal!

It was almost 9pm on a weeknight when hubs & I spontaneously decided to have a nice meal at Leméac as we thought it'd be mellow at this time of night, but when we stepped inside we found it too crowded and noisy for our mood. I suggested Chez Leveque across the street, which was much more chill. So glad we ended up here instead! Not only were there weeknight table d'tote specials, the service was attentive and top-notch too. I appreciated that they gave me a sample of the salmon tartar before serving it to me, to make sure the spice level was to my liking. The cocktails were also on special and very good too. Hubs ordered the cod, which was served hot and perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside, and tender on the inside. We had a very pleasant meal and what was great was that the price was very reasonable for such high level quality and service. Highly recommended. We'll definitely be coming back!

I chose Chez Leveque to celebrate a milestone birthday with my husband and 3 friends. I had eaten there several years ago on a visit to Montreal and had long wanted to return. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, our server was charming and attentive, the server assistant/food runner and the other staff members made us feel welcome, our steaks were perfectly cooked and the tarte tatin was excellent. I look forward to my next visit!
