Quite literally the most amazing food I have had in a while. Very cheap, very friendly staff shoutout my boy Pablo. Not to mention all the staff are incredibly sty. If u need outfit advice and the best food go here. Sidenote: I litterally saw the staff almost prevent a car accident and save a child and then return to work 1.3 seconds later. These people are as goated as the food

Just walking by this place, customers on the terrasse started pointing and laughing at me, because I am "too old to live here or even walk outside" this is all about the "young adults" so basically anyone is considered content so expect to be filmed and laughed at.

This needed to be responded. This review appears to be based entirely on a personal interpretation of a situation unrelated to the restaurant itself. No interaction with our staff, service, food, or establishment is described here. In a lively public environment, people may converse and laugh amongst themselves without it being directed at a passerby. Public reviews are most useful when they reflect an actual experience with the restaurant rather than assumptions about unrelated social interactions.

Cozy Portuguese diner in a rustically decorated space. Food is flavourful and filling.

The restaurant had a really nice ambiance, and we didn’t wait too long for a table. The food was tasty, but unfortunately, the service was disappointing. Our server was kind, but she forgot to place our order, and we waited about 40 minutes before reminding her. After that, it took another 15 minutes for the food to arrive. She also mentioned she would replace a piece of bread that was dropped, but it never came. We were offered a glass of orange juice as compensation, which was appreciated. Overall, I liked the ambiance and food, but I probably wouldn’t come back because of the service experience.

Super nice cafe, with great food and amazing service. Hard to pick from the menu but I’d be down to come back and try multiple things. I got the Portuguese platter and my friends go the breakfast sandwiches. Gorgeous interior, and our server was the best. Be ready to wait on the weekend as with any brunch spot, just make sure to add your name on the waitlist before arriving. :)

Amazing spot, food was delicious, portions are generous, and service is fast. We had the Portuguese breakfast comes with potatoes, chorizo, peppers, tomato, salad, and bread, so good. It’s a bit tight inside (you’ll be sitting close to others) and seating is limited, so expect a line depending on the time.

This cafe was brilliant we had the Mexican crepe and the chocolate crepe which were absolutely a blast the salad that they gave for the price of the meal was a excellent deal and definitely worth it. The atmosphere was small but the rustic and detailed interior made up for it. The service and staff were so kind and amazing they helped us make amazing vegetarian and non vegetarian choices and helped to change the meat to a vegetarian option, my son had an amazing time and the waiter was so nice to him and it was a blast. Honestly this has to be a five star cafe.

I had such a great experience at Chez José Café. From the moment I walked in, the staff were super nice, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, which made the whole visit feel warm and relaxed. I personally tried the egg tart with tea, and it was amazing, definitely a highlight and something I’d come back for. My friend also tried the salad and the matcha, and both were really good and well prepared. What really stands out about this café is the atmosphere. The design is so unique, from the outside to the inside, you can tell a lot of thought went into every detail. It has a cozy and creative vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Everything felt very clean and well maintained, which made the experience even more comfortable. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a special and cozy café in Montreal. I’ll definitely be coming back! THIS IS ALI NOOR & THIS IS MY REVIEW

Chez Jose nails it every single time. Every visit is as good as the first (if not better). Fresh and delicious! This is easily one of my favorite gems in the Plateau!

A really cute spot to grab some brunch, lunch, or drinks with friends. The Portuguese breakfast was hearty and delicious and our server was very friendly. A great family business that you can tell has a lot of history as a cornerstone of the neighborhood. I certainly recommend that you come here if you are in the area.

My favourite brunch spot in Montreal! Food is excellent, I would strongly recommend the Mexican omelette or the breakfast sandwiches. Coffee and drinks are good. Above all else the interior is cozy, and comforting in a way that makes every meal enjoyable. Food is on the heavier side but all the more delicious for it. The space is limited, so it can be difficult to get seating with larger groups. Additionally, the tables are located pretty close to each other so it can be a little tight if you have a lot of bags or other stuff.
