The best chicken,fries, gravy and service as it's been for years! Update: Went back on April 2026, can't beat this place for chicken, the fries and gravy are the best I've ever had! Once a month treat for your palate.

I understand that this may not be the best platform to share my experience which did not end up being a dining experience but rather an example of genuine kindness and customer service. I wanted to express my gratitude to the front of house staff at Chalet BBQ who were working then end of lunch service on Wednesday April 1. My dad and I had come in for lunch, within minutes of sitting down and ordering he became ill. This was a reaction to a medical injection that was administered a mere 45 mins earlier. He was physically sick and required attention from me while we waited for our ride to pick us up and return him to the hospital. We later learned that he had a rare allergic reaction. He was discharged from the hospital today and is recovering at home. My thanks to you is, that while we may have disturbed the peace in the dining area we were still treated so well by all of the servers and managers who checked in on us. Thank you for your kindness toward me and my dad during this stressful situation, where I was uncertain on what to do. We have always loved Chalet BBQ, and now have a story to tell about how wonderful the staff are. ❤️

Chalet Bar-B-Q is the most succulent and moist chicken you can get in Montreal. Clearly their years of experience have made them chicken masters. The staff is super friendly, the ambiance homey and the prices affordable. For sure a "bucket list" restaurant to try at least once (and you'll probably want to come back for more).

I can't remember the last time I was at Chalet Bar B Q since leaving the city but I know one thing is for sure.... It hasn't changed one bit. Still amazing service, the best damned chicken and nostalgia.

On Sunday evening I called to place a takeout order and was told that orders cannot be placed in advance — you must come in and order in person. Odd policy, but fine. I drove over. When I arrived, the cashier immediately told me I was standing in the wrong place. Okay. But instead of simply directing me or taking my order, she then proceeded to ignore me entirely while I stood there waiting. For over seven minutes I stood at the counter ready to order. No acknowledgment. No “we’ll be right with you.” No explanation. Just staff walking around while a customer stood there waiting to give them money. Eventually I realized no one had any intention of serving me, so I left and went somewhere else. What makes this especially frustrating is that this restaurant probably serves the best BBQ chicken in the city. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience is so indifferent and disorganized that it completely ruins it. Good food is not enough if customers are treated like they’re invisible. Until management understands that basic concept, the chicken simply isn’t worth the aggravation.

The place to go for chicken. My family has been eating there for years. Our favourite place for BarBQ chicken. Half chicken with a baked potato is my recommendation !
