I am writing publicly to raise a serious concern about consumer practices at Montréal Trudeau International Airport, specifically involving a food concession operating in the secure area of the terminal, Camden Food Co. During my recent travel through the airport, I ordered a very basic breakfast consisting of a bagel with egg and ham, along with a bottle of water. Before the price of the sandwich was clearly disclosed to me, the employee had already placed the item in the oven to heat it. At no point prior to preparation was the full price communicated. When I arrived at the cash register, I was charged approximately twenty seven dollars for this modest meal. Because the food had already been prepared, I was placed in a pressured situation where refusing the purchase was no longer realistic. This is not informed consent. This is pressure selling. When I expressed concern to the employee, I was told that the pricing model is aimed at travelers who are short on time and have no other options. While I understand that airport pricing is often higher than outside the terminal, the issue here is not simply cost. The issue is the absence of clear and upfront price disclosure before preparation, particularly in a captive environment where travelers are already limited in choice. As a traveler, I find it unacceptable that a food item can be prepared before a consumer is made fully aware of its price. This practice undermines basic consumer protection principles and creates a situation where customers feel compelled to pay after the fact. Aéroport Montréal Trudeau is the gateway to the city and to the province. The standards applied to its food concessions reflect directly on the airport authority and on Quebec as a whole. Practices such as this damage trust and leave travelers feeling taken advantage of. I am calling on Aéroports de Montréal and the Office de la protection du consommateur du Québec to review this matter seriously, including the pricing transparency and sales practices of airport food concessions. Corrective measures should be taken to ensure that prices are clearly displayed and communicated before any food preparation begins, and that consumers are not placed in pressured situations where refusal is effectively impossible. This letter is shared publicly so that other travelers are aware of these practices and so that meaningful oversight can be encouraged.

I purchased a bacon and tomato croissant and a coffee. It was $15.00. I didn't open it until I got home. When I sliced it in half a coachroach crawled out. After I threw up. I was so disappointed in your company. Shame and I mean shame on you!!!
