Great coffee, great vibe!
What guests say about Caffe Dante
Caffè Dante seems to be appreciated for its coffee, pastries, and some sandwiches, with a few customers describing the place as warm and pleasant. However, several reviews mention very cold or unpleasant service, as well as issues with cleanliness and flies. So it’s a place that may appeal for its coffee and pastry selection, but the welcome seems inconsistent. If service is important to you, it’s worth going with cautious expectations.
Reviews / Ratings for Caffe Dante
Caffè Dante has become so much more than just a coffee shop to me—it's a place that feels like home. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed into a warm, inviting atmosphere where you can truly be yourself. Whether I'm having a great day or a rough one, I've never felt judged. Instead, I've always felt accepted, welcomed, and treated like family. I've been coming here since the beginning of the year, and with every visit I've come to appreciate not only the coffee but the people and the community that's been built here. The owner has an incredible sense of humor, is genuinely authentic, and never pretends to be someone he's not. He's real—and that's something I respect. Running a small independent coffee shop isn't easy, and it's clear how much heart, hard work, and dedication goes into making this place what it is. One of the things I love most about small cafés is that you're stepping into someone's vision, almost like being welcomed into their home. Every owner has their own personality and way of doing things, and that's what gives places like Caffè Dante their character. The owner and staff here have real personalities, and that's refreshing. They're genuine people, not robots putting on a performance. To anyone reading the reviews, I'd encourage you to experience Caffè Dante for yourself instead of judging based on someone else's expectations. Authenticity isn't always polished, but it's honest—and that's exactly why I keep coming back. If you're looking for a place with great coffee, genuine people, plenty of laughs, and an atmosphere where you can relax and just be yourself, Caffè Dante is absolutely worth a visit.
The pastries are good but there are flies on them since they keep the door open (and it makes the place too hot/humid). Also, their matcha lattés aren’t great. They make them way too strong.
Visited on Thursday morning and the barista was rude that I almost felt sorry for asking him to make me and my friend’s coffee, while paying money for my own order lol. I got caffeinated coffee when I asked for a decaf (I know it cause my friend later told me that she saw him using the same beans afterwards to make her caffeinated coffee- still trusted the cafe and drank it - now I’m writing this review at 2am unavailable to sleep with a heartburn), asked for oat milk and he didn’t care to shake the bottle so instead of a full bodied oat coffee I had oat flavored water coffee. I didn’t care to complain on the spot cause the energy was so negative that I didn’t wanna talk to the person at all - so I’m leaving a review here instead. We had a bag of croissants from a pastry store next to the cafe but we were not going to eat them there. I was holding a tiny piece of bread in my hand for my toddler but our plan was to just get a few coffee for a take out and leave for a brunch. We entered the cafe saying hello to the barista he answered with you can’t eat those here- pointing at our bags. I understand that there are many bakeries around the cafes so some people could have tried to eat outside food, so even seeing a bag of anything just instantly annoys you, but maybe ask? If we were going to eat them at your cafe? Cause we absolutely were not and had no reason to be instructed so rudely without any communication - I see this was mentioned a few times in the reviews already. Having a no outside food policy is absolutely fine and should be respected but the way you communicated with us customers was just disrespectful. To be fair my friend says she enjoyed the taste her regular latte but we won’t be returning / recommend this cafe to anyone for the attitude and for the carelessness to follow specific order instructions.
One of the worst people I've ever met. The owner has an ego through the roof...arrogant, rude, and mean. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. There were flies all around the food and even ants crawling on the tables, which was completely unacceptable. On top of that, the owner/manager made me feel extremely uncomfortable during my visit. Definitely won't be coming back.
The Dante sandwich is excellent!
Best coffee in town. Always felt like I knew about a secret hidden gem in the city.
