We finally did it - we went to try what might just be the best smash burger in town! Yes, it’s worth the trip to the east end of Montreal, in St. Léonard. This place is truly a hidden little cafe, led by a certified chef, Claudio, whose culinary training clearly shines through in every bite. My husband and I stopped in mid-afternoon for a little spuntino (snack). We shared the famous smash burger along with the off-menu special of the day - a roast pork sandwich - which was so generous we ended up bringing half home. Honestly, it’s hard to say which we preferred; both were outstanding. The fries were excellent and the “secret sauce” definitely lived up to its reputation - finger-licking good. While Claudio has perfected his signature smash burger, he consistently elevates his offerings with creative specials - sandwiches, pasta and meat dishes. Be sure to ask what’s not on the menu that day - you won’t be disappointed. Claudio, well done. You are putting your culinary training to excellent use. Wishing you continued success. We look forward to coming back soon for another spuntino.
