friendly service and cute vibe. they seem to have a diverse menu but I was too impressed with their food. The pancakes were alright but it wasn’t even real maple syrup. The potatoes I felt were a bit too crispy. Since I got the magnolia plate with eggs, bacon, pancakes and potatoes sadly there wasn’t even bread given to dip my eggs. I would maybe go back to try their coffee and desserts.

Avoid at all costs! Unless you really like milk! We went for breakfast this morning. The service is slow, not very welcoming. The “waitress” seated us. After sitting the table for 15mins, we asked for a menu and were told we had to order at the counter, then someone would bring our food. After ordering our 1 latter, 1 cappuccino, maple bacon benny, le magnolia, we received our food and drinks 30mins later. The eggs Benedict were not real poached eggs, and were undercooked. The magnolia does not even come with toast. When we asked for an order of toast, they brought ONE slice of white bread. The coffee … even worse ! Both the latte and cappuccino were basically warm milk. Where’s the coffeee?????? We asked for an extra shot of espresso, and it didn’t help. Then we told the waiter the latte was no good, he remade it, but it was worse than the first 2 times! And we told him that too, at least he apologized …. If you’re an avid coffee drinker this place is sure to disappoint… the place is cute though. Definitely never going back, and definitely do not recommend, especially not for the coffee. Good luck!

Bonjour, It is quite obvious to us that these two reviews were posted following the same visit. What is also obvious is that our staff remained professional and patient throughout the interaction, despite a disrespectful attitude toward the team and repeated complaints during the service. Several statements regarding pricing and the overall experience are also inaccurate and greatly exaggerated, which does not change the reality of what occurred that morning. We had to get up to order the food at the cash instead of a waiter! Expensive and not worth the trip at all! 80$ for 2 and couldn't even get a latte like a normal person, even after the 3rd time! Not recommending at all

Hello, Our brunch dishes range from $14 to $23, so the “$80 for 2” statement seems quite difficult to understand. Our concept also works with ordering at the counter followed by table service, which is explained by our team upon arrival. Unfortunately, we do not really recognize the experience described here. – Café Magnolia

No laptop in a cafe which is crazy. Also the green tea is 5 bucks for literally a basic tea bag and a small mug of water. Will not recommend.

Hello Olivia, Laptops are allowed during the week but strictly not permitted on Saturdays and Sundays — as is the case in many cafés across Montréal. This policy is clearly indicated at the entrance, on the front door, and at the counter. Our green tea is priced at $3.80 (plus taxes), not $5. On weekends, we operate as a busy brunch café, and limiting laptop use ensures that guests looking to dine can find a seat. We are therefore quite surprised by the nature of this review, which does not reflect the information provided on site nor the reality of our pricing. Magnolia Team

Went here for brunch and it was amazing. Ordered the salmon eggs Benedict and an espresso martini and both were made with excellence. Would highly recommend this spot +1

My family and I were recently in Montreal, and happened to stumble upon this beautiful coffee shop. The atmosphere was so cool and the coffee and breakfast items we had were divine! Hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had - paired with the most delicious iced latte. Montreal has the best coffee and food I’ve ever had, but this cafe holds a special place in my heart. Can’t wait to go back ❤️ added bonus: the owners are SOOO friendly. They both made the experience even better :) thank you so much Cafe Magnolia.

TLDR: Their pastries are served frozen; I wouldn’t go back. We came across this café on a walk and decided to stop in since the decor was cute and it had good reviews. We ordered a slice of carrot cake (which was quite pricey) and a drink. We took a table and sat down. When we started eating, we realized the cake was still frozen and rock hard, with ice inside. Since we had already paid for it, we tried cutting it into small pieces and waiting for it to thaw. We debated whether to say anything but eventually decided to mention it. When we told them (the waiter and/or owner) that the cake was frozen, their explanation was as follows: “All our pastries, including croissants and cakes, arrive frozen. You need to leave them at room temperature to defrost.” We were never informed that we had to wait before eating it, they never warmed it up, nor did we have the time to sit around for it to thaw completely. I would think a café would serve their pastries ready to eat. Overall, I’d rather go to a café where pastries are ready to eat when served.

Very disappointed with the customer service. I called an hour ahead to ask if a reservation was needed for three people on a Sunday (today) and was told it wasn’t necessary. However, when I arrived, I was informed there was no availability. I understand that walk-in traffic can be unpredictable, but I don’t understand why a reservation couldn’t have been taken just in case. Sad because the menu looked good.

They have a policy that you cannot work on your computer inside. There are no signs and no warnings. I could not get a refund. it comes accross as a scam imo
