Very, very disappointing. I don't understand how this place is recommended in the Michelin Guide. Reading the menu, you'd think, "Wow, this sounds incredible, I'd eat anything here." But the plates are very mediocre. The service is incredibly bad. The waiters aren't rude, just very slow and inefficient, and they forget what you ask for. It's also quite crowded, but that's their problem to deal with. Some dishes were good and some were very boring. We also ordered the bread pudding, and it was literally charred. I couldn't even swallow it and had to spit it into my napkin.

Excellent food. Busy restaurant but service is fast especially if attending a show, the staff is conscientious. Leopold was a 5 star waiter. Try the Beets, zucchini, bavette and chocolate pie ❤️

Food was great. Specially loved my oysters and focaccia and broccoli but god was the service slow. I waited like what felt like forever (20 min) for just my drinks after ordering. Each dish had a substantial wait between them (about 15 mins between dishes). I grew old in the time waiting to the pay the check! Why would u bring me the bill and then wait 20 mins to come and let me pay it?!?

A wonderful dining experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional; warm, attentive, and professional without ever feeling intrusive. The cuisine was beautifully presented, creative, and full of flavor, with each dish thoughtfully prepared. Five stars for Cadet. We booked a 5 p.m. table, and the restaurant was already packed. After dinner, I understood why. The miso black cod was the best I’ve ever had. The tomato salad was incredible too. Every dish we tried was delicious, and Juliano, our server, made the experience even better with his warm, attentive service. This was one of the best meals we’ve had in Montréal. The food and service felt Michelin-star level. Make a reservation. I highly recommend Cadet.

We went to Cadet this weekend after having it recommended by several friends, so we came in with pretty high expectations, especially given its Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed. Both the appetizers and mains were underwhelming. A lot of the dishes felt overly seasoned, with so many strong flavours competing against each other that it was difficult to actually appreciate the ingredients or the dish itself. Others went in the opposite direction and just felt flat and not particularly memorable. Overall, it felt quite overhyped compared to the experience we had. We recently went to Keela and enjoyed it significantly more, both in terms of the food and the level of service. Given all the recommendations and recognition Cadet has received, we really wanted to love it, but unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the expectations for us.

Cadet was excellent across the board. The space is beautifully designed, with warm, comfortable lighting that creates an inviting atmosphere, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. I especially enjoy sitting at the bar, and it made the experience even better having such warm and engaging staff nearby. The food was thoughtful and memorable. The scallops with grapes and walnuts sounded unusual at first, but the combination worked beautifully—the sweetness, richness, and texture all balanced perfectly. The leeks with mackerel were delicate, smooth, and absolutely delicious. Ending with the bread pudding was the perfect choice. It arrived steaming hot with ice cream melting over the top and was a wonderful way to finish the meal. A really enjoyable experience from beginning to end.

The staff here are amazing as is the food. Our waiter helped us with recommendations for cocktails and was super helpful with food choices and quantities to order. His wine recommendations were also spot on. Really great experience all round.

Our experience at Cadet was *excellent*. We dined on a Tuesday night and the place was hopping. That being said, we’d have been understanding if we’d be waiting a little bit longer between each dish and pour, but the thoughtful care and attention delivered to us was as if we were the only people on the floor! Each dish arrived with a thoughtful presentation and at an appropriate temperature, and we really felt like everything was just… wow. delicious. We tried the Zucchini with hot honey and chicken skin, the leeks with smoked mackerel and dill, and the fried sea bass. Shout out to the foodrunner who de-spined our sea bass like lightwork. Our new favorite date night in the city.

There were three of us who visited last night after it was highly recommended by a family member. Going in without knowing quite what to expect, we were completely blown away by the entire experience. The chefs truly know what they’re doing. The flavours were incredible, and the sauce work was exceptional. The calamari and sea bass were our absolute favourites, but honestly, every dish was outstanding. No notes! Thank you for having us, what an incredible experience!

We came here before a UB40 concert right around the corner. The service was good. But the food, no, no, no. From under cooked lamb to over cooked miso cod. Walked away with a bill of $220 before tips and not liking the food.

Plates to share. Server is highly knowledgeable about what combinations of plates worn well. Highly recommend the scallops with Focaccia bread!!
