Food is great, servers are all nice but the service itself is on the slow side. The omelette feta is to die for.
What guests say about Byblos Le Petit Cafe
Byblos Le Petit Cafe is appreciated for its warm atmosphere, beautiful decor, and authentic Persian style, with dishes often described as delicious, especially the breakfasts and feta omelette. Many customers also like going there for tea, to work, or to chat, but service often comes up as a weakness: sometimes slow, not always attentive. A few reviews also mention portions that are considered small or prices that are high compared with the quality.
Reviews / Ratings for Byblos Le Petit Cafe
For someone who really loves Persian food and Persian breakfast, I was expecting so much more. The food was just okay — not very flavorful or memorable — and the portions felt small for the price. The drinks were especially disappointing. We asked multiple times if the juice was fresh, but it tasted frozen or possibly old, and the latte tasted watered down. Overall, the experience didn’t feel authentic or worth the cost. Hopefully they improve the freshness and quality because Persian food can be so much better than this.
Please don’t miss your chance when it comes to try this Persian restaurant. From breakfast to dinner each meal is simply unique with flavors and menu diversity. Plus, the staff was lovely throughout the whole time and the accommodation, seatings and décor was all great! It gave me this calm impression like I could enjoy my meal and have a unique experience, and the neighborhood is also a great place to take a walk right after so location wise I wouldn’t have put it better. Please, I can’t repeat it enough but go have a meal you’ll have a wonderful time over there.
Hands down my favourite spot in Montreal! I tell literally whoever will listen that Byblos is the best. The interior is beautiful and so cozy, and the food is incredible. Both the dinner service and the brunch are to die for. HUGE recommend!
I’ve eaten here twice now and it has been delicious both times. I went on a busy day my first trip, and we put our names on the list and wandered around. The cafe is situated in a beautiful neighborhood, so it is easy to pass the time. The second time was a quiet day and we were sat immediately. The Iranian tea is amazing and beautifully served, and my favorite food is the feta omelet.
Lovely atmosphere, authentic northern Iran items on the menu and very friendly staff and owner! This place would make your day :)
One of the older Persian-style restaurants in Montreal, known for its authentic recipes and distinctive atmosphere. The cuisine is an interesting fusion, traditional Persian flavors presented with a more Western-style plating and presentation. The overall setting and décor also reflect this blend of cultures. The food carries a strong homemade character, with the kind of depth and care you would expect from traditional Persian cooking. The location is also very good and convenient. The only weak point was the customer service, which felt less welcoming and patient than expected! Still, it remains a memorable place for Persian-inspired cuisine in the city.
I love this place as a cafe strictly. The food is, as most people have mentioned in reviews, lackluster. Good chocolate cardamom cake, but I probably wouldn't have supper here again. You really want to stay for the atmosphere, but the service is always terrible. After returning multiple times, it seems the staff begins to ignore you after coming by once, and will not clear your table until you leave...dirty plates with bones were left on our table after we were done eating and were not cleared for 30+ minutes even though we wanted to stay for tea afterwards. Consistently poor service and rude waitstaff, unfortunately.
Iranian specialties at reasonable prices and wonderful breakfasts.
Cute place, Iranian style menu. Great local place to meet, chat, play some chess, read a book, computer work. Friendly service
Last night I went to Byblos and honestly, the Dizzy was far better than anything I normally cook; so good that I’m seriously considering stopping cooking Dizzy at home and just eating there instead. The taste wasn’t just good; it was impeccable. The balance and fragrance of the ingredients were on another level, something I simply can’t recreate at home. Every bite took me straight back to my childhood and my grandmother’s cooking. This is an absolute must-try.
Very good place to discover persian food. The services and staffs are great, especially when you need advices. The place can be quite packed during rush hour so I suggest to come earlier, before 11 AM.
