Blonde waitress got both our orders wrong and had attitude when I was asking for certain options removed from my dish. Also got the wrong eggs in another dish

Absolutely fantastic, wide range of menu items, excellent service, very friendly, GREAT food and awesome poutine and a LOT of choices! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Fantastic menus, and then warm
Lovely dinner in old Quebec Great prices and service Delicious meal too
I ordered an omelette with mushrooms. It came with potatoes and toast on the side. I also added a meat pie. The flavors were quite plain and home-style, nothing refined or impressive.
Very cosy place with authentic food and fair prices
We enjoyed the poutine, strawberry milkshake and sugar pie. Friendly service and the cafe has an air of warm history.
After reading the glowing reviews about this restaurant, we stopped by for breakfast during our trip to Quebec City. I was wildly excited about their eggs Benedict, but I couldn’t have been more disappointed. Everything was completely flavorless. No seasoning, no lemon, and the hash brown potatoes were barely cooked. On top of that, the service was disappointingly slow. At busy restaurants, I would normally give a wide berth. But in this case, you could see the servers just standing around talking. There was no sense of urgency. This is one breakfast spot I will not return to. Highly recommend looking for something else.
This place serves delicious food. “La Cochonne” is amazing for breakfast, and for lunch, “Le Ragoût de Boulettes et Pattes” is simply delicious. It’s the perfect spot for anyone who loves homemade-style flavors. The menu is available in French, English, and Spanish, and the staff can assist you in all three languages. A must-visit place to eat.
Great breakfast. Like La Bûche, it felt like we were eating amazing homemade food. We shared an omelette, crêpes, and eggs Benedict. Everything we ordered was a better version of familiar items.
Superb service by Cindy. I’m Vegan and Cindy made sure she made my order separately and not with meat. The best Vegan Veggie Burger I’ve ever had. It was handmade. The Soup of the day Turnip Crème soup with Maple syrup was outstanding too. Highly recommended!!!
First time experiencing the Gen Z stare. I kept smiling back like an idiot 😑 Other than that, our table was upstairs and it was pretty cramped. We were squeezed right next to another table and the waiters had a hard time getting through the aisle. It was uncomfortable for us. Food was okay.
We had a good experience here, though it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but still good. ☺️ We tried a few dishes, including the penne with pesto and sausages, which was nice and satisfying, and the fish and chips. The highlight for me was definitely the mushroom soup 😍 it was the best thing we had, really rich and flavorful. The staff were great, friendly, helpful, and even a bit funny in a good way, which made the experience more enjoyable 😁
Delicious breakfast and quick service!
Had to wait outside, fortunately not for long. Hostess couldnt tell us how long the wait was when we got there. I have friends that have worked in the industry for decades and they always say a restaurant should be able to tell you how long the wait is. It's just good restaurant management. Got the pate chinois, which is a shepherds pie that used to be served to Chinese migrant railroad workers. Seems a bit racist to still call it that but moving on... It was cold. Tasted OK once it was reheated but there was a strong spice in it that I couldn't place that was a bit odd. Waitress seemed annoyed about giving me a take away box at the end of the meal.
I went there following Samuel Dubois’ (tour guide) recommendation. The service was excellent, everyone was kind and helpful, and the food was typical, served in a local atmosphere at a good price. Definitely worth a visit while in Quebec!
Loved everything about this place! The food is great, the staff is friendly and the prices are very affordable. I suggest taking the extra homemade caramel or strawberry sauces for the toasts, they are a must!
Appalling service and a hostile atmosphere. After a simple order mistake, the waitress threw a temper tantrum. She argued with me, marched to our table, and aggressively scraped my plate into the trash, using her bare hand to hold my burger just inches from the garbage. Throughout the ordeal, she was visibly shrugging and making faces to signal her annoyance. As the only people of color and non-French speakers present, we felt targeted and deeply unwelcome, especially as the staff gossiped about us in French afterward. Unprofessional, unsanitary, and discriminatory.
Excellent.
The food was really good, just not "great" but I will definitely return to try other menu items. The staff were friendly and the service was very good. I must have arrived at a good time because it wasn't very busy (also less people in the area in winter, I guess). I'll be back for sure next time I'm in Québec.
I highly recommend the Pouding chomeur!!
A classic dinner feel with a staff that is half friendly and half "meh". The food wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. I appreciated the breakfast, and really liked the sausages dipped in the delicious maple syrup. Would certainly recommend if you are in need of a good breakfast, but not if you were looking for something unique.
We were really looking forward to trying some traditional Quebec fare and had a chilly but fun conversation with some locals while we waited outside for a table. The peasoup was very good but the classic meat pie and stew were disappointing by any standards, much less those of a highly rated local favorite. The food was overcooked and generally bland, not what you'd expect for a city known for culinary excellence.
More place but fun
Loved their onion soup, comforting, delicious & very reasonably priced! Much better & cheaper than many supposedly good restos. Service was amazing as well. Will definitely be back again!
