Portions for the Pancit Canton with Lechon Baboy is incredibly small. Good portion of pork but nearly non-existent noodles?? I actually don’t understand being cheap on noodles when it’s the cheapest element of the dish? At that point I think you’re better off skipping the dish entirely and going to Dobe and Andy across and just ordering pork from there.

Coco is suchhh a sweetheart, we absolutely loved it. Service was good and it was such a VIBE. 🍊🍊🍊CURATED MUSIC IN POINT👌
We’re rooting for this place because the menu and concept have a lot of potential. The flavours were genuinely great, but the service and overall dining experience left us a bit disappointed. Service-wise, it would really help if the process was explained more clearly when customers arrive. For example, that you pay first, seat yourself, and grab your own utensils. We felt a little unsure throughout the experience. When our food arrived, we also didn’t receive water or utensils, which added to the confusion. For the food itself, the flavours were excellent, but the portion sizes felt inconsistent for the pricing. The $4 rice portion was nearly the same size as the $16 pancit, and the sisig portion was much smaller than expected based on photos from other reviews. We finished it in just a few bites. We also later noticed that the menu on Uber Eats mention garlic rice included with the sisig, but we were charged extra for it. It was $65 for 2 people after tip, and left still a but hungry. Hoping they continue improving because there’s definitely something special here and we’d love to see them succeed!
Coming from Ontario my husband and I searched for pinoy restaurants. Happy to find a 20 min walk fr our hotel. The place is dismal but we're thinking give it a chance .it's about filipino hospitality like smile, acknowledging ,and welcoming atmosphere. Came in the guy behind the counter just looked at us/gave us a stare and NEVER EVER gave us a sense of hey we're happy that you came and happy to cook good food for you. We felt wow, that's one miserable staff. To us its about first impression the feel of filipino pride, this one did not deliver. We ended up leaving and very disappointed. May 16, 2026. there's no customer except 1. Buboy restaurant, treat everyone with good intention. You never know who are the people you ALMOST had as a customer.
Didn't expect it but all the food that we ordered were so good. The service is fantastic, they are very helpful in choosing the food. I hope to come back whenever my health permits me 👍👍👍👍👍
Bulalo and lechon and sisig! This place is yum. Ask for the homade banana vinegar. Would buy merch if the had. Can't wait to try other menu items! For a small mall kiosk it packs a big punch.

So good! Bulalo was savory and bursting with flavor. Very hearty. Come hungry.
Food was so freaking good! It was very homey, I loved how cozy the kitchen and seating area felt. We got the pork sisig, tinapa rice, and the crab rangoons. Definitely recommend the crab rangoons!!!
Will be coming back to try everything on the menu. Fantastic little spot, absolutely delicious.
Little counter restaurant serving hard to find filipino food. It's a small operation so service can be slow but the ambiance is nice. I had the bulalo, it was alright. I'll have to try more of the menu.
Went to Montreal for a few day and stumbled on this little hidden gem. Pretty random location inside a small building in Chinatown, but it was so good we came back for a second meal. Modern twists on Filipino classics. I was literally dreaming of their spicy beef short rib sinigang. The miki and pancit are a must with lechón. My only regret is not having enough days to come back and try the rest of the menu. We ate at Toque and Joe Beef and I think this was my favorite meal of the three. So good!
I am a Filipino and tried to help and support local business. I bought this as take home. I was disappointed the I only got 1/4 filled . This is only a small snack for a child. As you can see you can count the noodles you have served me. The thought that the hype was good food is only ok. I tried to let you know on your Insta but got no response Sorry but not coming back to you.
I visited twice on the same Montreal trip, which I think says something. Either about Buboy’s potential, or my own optimism. Possibly both. First visit, I ordered the bulalo. At Buboy they serve it with noodles, which is their prerogative. I asked for rice on the side because I’m Filipino, and also the grandchild of a rice farmer, so this is something I take personally. The rice was dry enough that not even the bulalo broth could rescue it, which is a sentence I genuinely did not expect to write about a Filipino restaurant. The beef in the bulalo was also quite lean, which made me reconsider whether the noodles would have even helped. The broth itself was decent. I could see the vision. I just couldn’t fully live in it. The music situation: the staff were changing songs constantly, which is a pet peeve of mine both as a customer and as someone who has worked in food service. "Folded" by Kehlani came on. They changed it immediately. I am not over this. Second visit, different friend, different order. I got the tinapa fried rice, which was genuinely good. I also paid extra for an additional egg, somewhere in the $2-3 range, and received half an egg. So I paid to complete the egg that came with the dish. Buboy has real ideas. The menu has personality. Our friends who live in Montreal love it, and I wanted to love it too. I just think the execution stumbles on the things that should be the easiest to get right. Rice. Beef. The egg math (I know there's eggflation, but still.) I’ll probably try the ube crinkle cookie next time I’m in town. There will probably be a next time.
I finally visited Buboy, a Filipino restaurant that gives a twist to classic Filipino dishes. I ordered the crispy kare-kare and crab rangoon. The presentation was not as appetizing as what I saw on their IG, but the taste made up for it. It was really good. When they say crispy, it is truly crispy. The crab rangoon was a standout and something I would order again. Also, shoutout to the staff who served my food. She was very nice and welcoming. I felt a bit guilty for not smiling back when she smiled at me. Great service overall.
Had the beef pares. Meat was extremely tender and flavorful. Garlic rice was as good as you'd expect.
Very disappointing and frustrating if you’re trying to plan an order in advance… phone numbers don’t work and if you try to reach out on social media they expect you to place an advance order over DMs. My mom is almost 80, isn’t in the best of health, doesn’t drive and doesn’t have social media. She used to go to Buboy a lot when it was in Monkland. Over Instagram I tried getting their new phone number but they wouldn’t give one (who knows why). And then all they replied to me was that they couldn’t accommodate an order 2 days in advance… Unprofessional and, frankly, a bit rude. Super disappointing. Don’t recommend for those who live far from the new location. If you like to plan things in advance and get information on what can be ordered in advance, don’t bother trying to contact this restaurant…
so tasty and full of flavour! i wanted to check this place out for awhile and i’m so happy i did. the restaurant is small and cozy, and we had two orders of sisig. it was tasty, savoury and sour — probably the best i’ve had in a long time. i’ll definitely be back!
We had a lechon sisig, which was incredible. The flavor was very authentic and the lechon was very crispy. Was a nice little unexpected find in this facility. Only downside was portion size was pretty lacking. The actual "sisig" portion was maybe a couple spoonfuls, rest of the bowl was just plain rice.
I had the pancit and pork because I was craving noodles but didn’t want to overeat in Chinatown. Perfect portion size for 1 plus the flavor is a change from other Asian restaurants!
Great food and awesome service from Vaughn , loved the take on the bulalo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ambiance kanto style
A steaming Filipino bowl of Bulalo: rich, clear bone broth layered with deep beef flavor, tender shank falling off the bone, sweet corn, soft cabbage, and fresh noodles soaking it all in. Comforting, honest, and deeply satisfying. Between sips and bites, we drifted through conversations about Montreal, travels across Asia, geopolitics, and cinema, the world feeling both vast and right there at the table. 🍲🌏
We appreciated the attentive service and professionalism of your staff during our recent visit to Montreal. We're puzzled that the online reviews don't accurately reflect the restaurant's actual location, which is within a small corner space of a larger building. Unfortunately, the food we tried didn't live up to the standards suggested by the reviews. Although the Filipino dishes did have an authentic taste, our overall experience was marred by concerns over sanitation and the ambiance of the premises. We hope you can use this feedback to improve and align the experience with your online presence. 😩😑🫣
Their pancit canton brought me back to the ones I usually had in my childhood but more elevated in flavor. I love them for doing that. 10 out of 10 in my book
Very delicious !
