Mega delicious 🐟🍺
Best fish and chips in Montreal, hands down
The fish was perfect and that tartar sauce is some of the best I've ever had.
A Massive Letdown 0 out of 100 at Brit & Chips As someone who lived in England for seven years, I have been raving to my wife and kids about the authentic taste of British fish and chips. I’ve shared so many stories about the crispy batter and fresh fish that we finally decided to visit Brit & Chips to give them a taste of the real thing. Unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. The food was, quite frankly, oily crap. It looked like the fish and chips had been fried in old, degraded oil that had turned black, leaving everything looking unappetizing and tasting even worse. In the world of "English style" food, this was a 0 out of 100. The only saving grace was the staff. The waiters were very nice and attentive, but when the food is inedible, great customer service simply isn't enough to save the experience. If you are looking for an authentic British chippy experience, this definitely isn't it.
Very nice staff, food is amazing! Fish was sooooo good! I had the cod, the breading was perfect!
Good fish and chips and dessert the apple fritters best I got so far in my life, moist and bouncy with just the perfect crust around it and it comes with a caramel sauce so good don't forget to add the ice cream help cleanse the palate and go back to the fritters, service friendly and there is an ambiance of music but doesn't prevent you from earring people around your table.
Best fish and chips I've ever had. Great service. Waitress was sweet. Small place. Take out vibes but does have a small seating area.
Incredible experience! Our server Stephen was super attentive, knowledgeable and made sure to make us laugh. The food was fantastic as well- elevated pub food with a personal touch. We'll definitely be back!
Yeah it’s good! But the shrimp popcorn was a joke, such small amount and not worth it at all!!!!! Wish the fish batter stayed crispy! The fries are ight. The coleslaw is amazing! The tartar sauce is good! They have vinegar, mayo and ketchup on the side, thanks !
COD fish is fresh.
They're pretty good
got the king’s platter! Good portion for three as a lighter meal Calamari portion was pretty small for 16$ though. But service is very quick, food came out quickly and server was very nice :) Also not busy at 4:30 on a Thursday
Great fish and chips
Proper fish and chips. Most places over batter their fish to the point it's difficult to find. Here the fish is done right. Just enough batter, the fish was fresh flakey and moist. The chips were good as well. Thumbs up.
It has changed since I went 5 years ago. I feel the fries are a little more basic than before, but the fish was still nice and crispy.
The lemon tartar was sublime. I ate here over a year ago and I still think about it.
Great service, friendly staff, amazing food and drinks. Despite the sauce on top of fish, it was still crispy. It was amazingly soft inside and goes well with coleslaw. My server was very sweet and friendly, it was very nice to talk to her. Definitely will come back if I visit Montreal again.
After a long walk it was nice to arrive hungry to Brit & Chips. Actually they are one of many reasons that I decided to return to Montreal. My interaction with staff was great and my food was ready in short time. I really wish that my hometown had a place like this. The restaurant was filled with happy guests but I like to take mine to go because I know that it won't take long to finish.
I used a credit from Passeport MTL and ordered the cod fish and chips, adding a beer on the side. The service was speedy, and the staff were genuinely friendly, and fully bilingual. The food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. The batter was light, golden, and perfectly crispy, giving way to flaky, tender cod inside. The fries looked like fresh hand-cut potatoes, double-fried to be fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Simple, comforting, and done very well.
Great spot for a quick bite. The service was great and we had a lovely chat with the server who encouraged us to visit Montreal again in the spring or summer. The food was exactly what we were hoping for after a long day of exploring the he city. Highly recommend.
