Good beer. Good service. You can order a fish and chips (fries). You can order a club with kettle chips but you can't get swap kettle chips for fries even if you offer to pay extra. A very poor business model on the kitchen manager. Obviously not a very experienced cook in the industry. What's even more unprofessional of the cook is he is serving plates to customers with his dirty clothes and dirty rag hanging out of his back pocket and pouring and serving beer to customers. This cook needs a talking to on how the industry works. Didn't bother ordering any food at all and paid for my beer and left. Update from response from Owner: First of all, Chef? If this guy were a Chef he would have not made it through Chef School. He's a just a Cook at best. The place wasn't really busy at all so nice try on the short staff gimmick. He should have maybe washed his greasy, dirty hands before helping out? As for the fries, Your Cook can't manage to throw and extra potato in the fryer in case someone would like a side of fries? Are the Kettle chips made by your "Chef" as well or did they come out of a bag? English style Fish in a German Brewery 😆! How about Backfisch? Oh wait, that's German style Fish and Fries.

We’re actually very proud of our in-house chef, who brings many years of experience along with world-class training. On the day of your visit, we had a server call in at the last minute, and our chef stepped in to help on the floor—something he does as a team player when needed. While we understand how this may have appeared, it certainly isn’t reflective of our usual service standards. Regarding the chips, our fish and chips is served with traditional English-style chips, not French fries. Since this is one of our most popular dishes, we carefully manage our prep to ensure consistency and availability, which unfortunately limits substitutions during service. We’re sorry that this impacted your decision not to dine with us, and that your visit didn’t live up to expectations. They have a good variety of different beer styles, not just the trendy IPAs and sours everyone else is doing. The pizza and schnitzels are great!
