We went here for dinner on our first night in Old Quebec. It has a wonderful pub atmosphere. However, both food and service were lacking. We were the only table yet we had to get the waiter, who was lounging at the bar, to get salt and pepper for the under-seasoned (and over-priced) seafood chowder. The poutine was "ok" but nothing special. We never got our water as requested and had to flag down the waiter a second time to get the bill. Ok to visit for a drink, but we won't eat there again.
Reviews / Ratings for Bistrot Pape Georges (Le)
Watched the cook text onnhis phone and touch my food with his bare hands without even washing. Did not see this man ever wash his hands.😬 plus none of the food was fesh. All frozen precooked.
Came across this very rad establishment twice on my journey through Quebec City. Once during the day, once at night. The owner Phil was amazing with his culinary skills and knowledge. The nightlife band was superb as well. Atmosphere, menu, drink selections are all worth sampling.
Food was okay, nothing special. Portion sizes were small for the price, only a place to go for drinks. Service was friendly.
Small cozy spot in a very historic building. Stone walls and hand-hewn timbers. Our cheese plate was great and drinks were excellent.
I just found a note I wrote to myself to write a review for Pape Georges tres Bien. We went to Quebec for our honeymoon months ago. This was the first place we went and we had soup and a charcuterie board and they were both wonderful. The atmosphere is so comfortable and friendly. The food was high quality ingredients. We went back on our last day in town we liked it so much.
