Celebrated birthday at this beautiful restaurant. It was a very expensive dinner but it was worth every penny! We tried 6 course tasting menu and we absolutely loved it! The food was probably the best I ever had in my life, the presentation and explanation of each dish was amazing, our server Jean-Francois was very friendly and helpful. The $350 bottle of champagne was totally unnecessary but it tasted fantastic 😃. Yes, it was super expensive outing but yes, it was worth it!

A beautiful dinner in a truly romantic setting. The elegant atmosphere, warm ambiance, and refined surroundings made the evening feel especially memorable. A lovely place for a relaxed and intimate dinner, with the charm and elegance of Fairmont Le Château Frontenac adding to the experience.

Seasoned and cooked to perfection. I love staying at this Fairmont property, and this is one of the must-visit restaurants when in Quebec City.

The food was very good, and I especially enjoyed the premium wine pairing. I had seen some reviews mentioning slow pacing, but that was not my experience. I had the four-course tasting menu with foie gras added à la carte, and I was finished in about 90 minutes. Service was good overall. However, there was one point where the wine pairing for the halibut was not brought out with the dish. I flagged down my server and received it shortly after, so it was not a big issue. My main disappointment was the seating. I had called a few days before to request a window table overlooking the river. I was told they would try but that it was not guaranteed, which I understood. What bothered me was that even as I was being taken to my table, no one mentioned that they had not been able to accommodate the request. I only found out after I asked about it. It made me feel like the issue was being brushed under the rug rather than addressed directly. I would have appreciated a quick heads-up beforehand, or at least being told before I was seated. Despite the food and ambience being excellent, the way the seating request was handled left a bad impression and makes me hesitant to return.

We stopped by Sunday morning before the kids' soccer game and were seated right away even though the place was already filling up. The maple syrup infused dishes on the brunch menu were a hit, my son cleaned his plate of the pancakes without complaining once. Our server was patient with the kids picking at the menu and even brought crayons over without us asking. It's a bit of a splurge for a casual family breakfast but the view of the Plains of Abraham from our table made it worth every penny.

Had an amazing experience at this restaraunt. Shared the 55 day dry aged Ribeye with my travel buddy, which was next level amazing. Our hostess Luna, and our waitress were spot on awesome! I highly recommend this place to eat. Be prepared for the cost. The experience is worth it though

We visited with a group of 11 to celebrate a special 80th birthday as well as other joint 50th birthdays. The whole experience was incredible with an amazing location and the staff and waiters were very friendly, charming and welcoming. We mostly ordered the 4 course taster menu with some ordering individual dishes. The food was incredible as you would expect from this level of restaurant. The wine pairing was also perfect with great wines from unexpected countries like Greece and Croatia. The reason for my rating of 3 for the service is due to a few mistakes in our order. We were offered great flexibility with the choices of the taster menu, which was great as some of our group were not keen on some of the standard dishes like the Veal Tartare. When the first course arrived, three of the dishes that should have been the alternative to the Veal were served the Veal, which meant they had to be replaced straight away. One of our group was also served the dishes from the 6 course vegetarian taster menu, when the order was also the 4 course. The overall timing of the service was also extremely slow. Altogether, the service took 3 and a half hours, with breaks of around 30-40 minutes between each course, which is extremely long for taster dishes that are relatively small. I only later found out that this is a Michelin star restaurant, which is mainly the reason for my review, as I would not expect various mistakes in the order and the long waiting from a Michelin star restaurant.

Champlain is a true fine dining experience. We originally were on the inside, but wanted a window seat. In order to get one, you have to get the tasting menu, which we did. All the courses on the tasting menu were excellent. The standout for me was the beef with morel mushrooms. I chose the wine pairings and they were perfect. The aperitifs were very creative and opened up a new area of taste for me. The service was professional and impeccable. Combined with the ambience and the view from our table, I found Champlain ro be a most enjoyable experience.

We visited to celebrate a graduation and Father’s Day, and the team went above and beyond by surprising us with a beautiful celebratory dessert. It was such a thoughtful touch that made our family milestone truly special. As someone with a shrimp allergy, I was incredibly impressed by how safely and seamlessly they modified the halibut course for me. The service was absolute top-tier, and the wine pairing was perfection, complementing every dish beautifully. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable evening. We will definitely be back!

In summary: Waitstaff and atmosphere is excellent, Food and food timing was disappointing..especially for the price paid. The hostess was not incredibly welcoming and when we asked for the cellar experience she completely dismissed us. Upon being shown to our table we asked again about the cellar experience and the other girl explained they no longer offer that service (which is fine, just that we saw it on their website). We were sat in a window seat which was a beautiful view of the river. The atmosphere was so intricate and beautiful. Our waiter was very prompt and cheerful as he spoke with us. He offered suggestions when asked and was knowledgeable about the wine and food. We opted for the 6 course tasting menu. I do not eat pork and the waiter noted that for the kitchen. Unfortunately my lamb course did come with bacon still which is one of the reasons I am marking food as a three star. The first three dishes came out in a timely manner, however, the final three took 30 minutes each to come out. From beginning to end 6 courses took 2.5 hours to come out which seems incredibly long.

Dear Ms. Sizemore, Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words about our waiter and the atmosphere. We would like to clarify that the lamb was wrapped in lamb belly, not bacon, and we also prepared a pork-free sauce especially for you. We apologize if this was not clearly explained. We also sincerely apologize for the delays during the latter part of your tasting menu. We understand that this affected your overall experience, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back. Kind regards, Jessica Lefèbvre, Director Le Champlain
