This is a charming little French bistro on Victoria that is very underrated. Firstly our server Alexandra was truly excellent. Very charming and knowledgeable of their menu. She was attentive without being intrusive throughout the evening. The food was excellent. The four of us started with the Chicken liver pate, the tuna tartar, the gem salad and halloumi cheese. All appetizers were quite tasty and enjoyable. Our mains were the burger, the rib steak, a fish and the mussels and fries (delish). All of the mains were shared and also wonderful. The dessert was their award winning sticky toffee pudding. Outrageous. It appears that this restaurant was running perfectly on all cylinders tonight making such a memorable night out.

My husband and I have dined at Bistro La Franquette many times and have always enjoyed it, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We had a reservation for 6:45pm on a Friday, which we moved to 8pm last minute. We actually arrived early, at 7:25pm, to find the restaurant nearly empty: one occupied table outsid, three inside, and two people at the bar. Despite this, the hostess told us our table wasn't ready because "all the tables were booked for 7:30pm," yet there was no line of waiting customers anywhere in sight. She offered us a table by the door, a spot at the bar, or a table outside. When I asked to sit where we had the last time we visited, she claimed that table only sat 3 people. This was odd, since we'd sat there before and the restaurant was, again, completely empty. Had the place been busy, we would have understood completely. But given the circumstances, her explanation felt like a pretext. The hostess's manner throughout was rude and condescending, and we ultimately decided to leave and go to another restaurant we frequent regularly. As we walked out, she told us we'd be charged a no-show fee. We dine out often and cannot recall a more unprofessional, unwelcoming, and unaccommodating interaction with anyone in the service industry. We won't be returning, and we won't be recommending Bistro La Franquette to our friends or business partners.

Great spot, warm ambiance. Very refined dining experience. The sauces are on point, seasoning is perfect, staff was super friendly and Chef is a gentleman

Great food, nice location with a relaxed atmosphere. We sat in the outside patio and had a lovely evening. The staff were incredibly nice.

Terrible experience, burger was served raw. Instead of bringing a fresh burger, they re-grilled the same one (that now had a completely charred black and burnt bun) and just comped it from the bill. Completely unprofessional service, seriously especially for a $29 price tag burger with no sides.

Amazing food and drinks but even better service :) The lovely hosts, servers, and bartender made two weary and rain-drenched travellers feel welcome and cared for, even bringing us wine as we huddled at the host station waiting for a bar spot to open it (la franquette's bar and tables were packed, as they should be!). Everything we ate was delicious, especially the muscles. I can't wait to come back!

Sat at the bar was, food was excellent had the burger which took with the salad . Good change instead of fries as the burger is extremely filling and rich…lots of butter in the bread…delicious but next time would share the burger . Halloumi was excellent also and had there special of the day the ravioli which also shared …also very delicious …all in all great experience and will go back

One of the best restaurant experiences my husband and I have ever had! Our server, Coco, was absolutely fantastic and brought us two different entrées from the chef to try, making the experience above and beyond. We had the duck pasta appetizer, which was a special and beyond delicious. She also brought out the braised leek terrine which was incredibly unique and delicious. For our main, we had the hanger steak and frites with the asparagus special. My husband ate the entire plate of asparagus in seconds, he said it was one of the best things he’d ever eaten. Coco then brought us champagne on the house as we were celebrating our anniversary, which I had put in the reservation notes but not verbally acknowledged, which was such a lovely touch. Overall, this was absolutely phenomenal and I couldn’t recommend here more!

Very dissapointing , i gave 3 stars because the food was not bad , I went with friends and family for my 60th bday dinner, The service was terrible , the server rude unfriendly , not even a happy bday wish. I was told that it was an excellent resto had the service been top notch i would have given 4.5 stars . But when you are paying that kind of price for a meal , a celebration , I expect a lot more. I would not go back.

Was able to get a reservation for bar seating a few weeks ahead. Such an amazing experience. Food and drinks were the best. The bartender helped us choose the right wines to go with our meal. I will definitely come back when I’m back in Montreal

Best cheeseburger I have had so far - and I have had a few (LOL!) Small and quaint. Lively atmosphere, but not loud and rowdy. We were a party of 4 for a birthday and it was perfect.

Everything was perfection , our server, nose ring with an Irish accent was so lovely. Their energy was so warm loving and attentive . The kind of loving energy you receive from your grandmother . Great food, and great service! Vibes are good and unpretentious. The grilled hangar steak was cooked to perfection and I can’t get over how good the flan was 🤩 I highly recommend this place for a date night!

Quaint spot with a small menu, very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Braised leek with curry and the fried in-house made halloumi was great to start; the mains were well portioned. Perfect for a date night - will return!
