We can’t say enough about this restaurant gem! The view, the service and the food is all 5 Stars. We loved that it was all shareable plate sizes so we could try lots of dishes. Very unique, tasty dishes with excellent flavour to satisfy your palate.

Having lived in Turkey and Morocco, and seen the excellent reviews, I was really excited for this dinner. We got the 2-person tasting menu for $99 and added the wine pairings for $35 each. For that amount of money I expect an excellent dining experience, but instead we got a meal that would have been disappointing even if it had cost $50. The dishes were uninspiring and lacking nuance. The paired wines struck me as bottles that had been opened and needed to be used up, not as anything chosen to pair well with the dishes. The pita was dry and stale, the eggplant was undercooked and tough, the flank steak was a salt bomb, the salmon kofte was dry and didn’t seem fresh, and everything seemed to be overwhelmingly flavored only with salt and lemon. I kept wanting to find the bright spot, but it was just a disappointment. So sad.
We basically ate in a translucent igloo. Everything was great except I felt rushed by the 2-hour time limit.
We loved the food. Ordered the sharing menu which gave us lots of variety, each dish delicious. The staff were great, very kind and attentive. We will definitely come back!
We didn’t realize this was the most popular restaurant in Magog. We came here because it was the closest to our stay. The food was honestly amazing, better than some Mediterranean food in Montreal. But what stood out the most was the service from the people. The workers were incredibly kind and very professional. 5/5 would come back!
Food was out of this world! Waitress was lovely but we came on an evening where there was apparently a large group seated upstairs and waited an awfully long time for our meals. The kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed and was limited in getting our dishes out in appropriate times. Waitress was very apologetic and even allowed for us to cancel one of our dishes as it was getting quite late. We would love to try a meal another time when they are less inundated.
⭐ 1-Star review The worst service I have ever experienced in my life!!! We were a group of 10 people with reservation for 7:30 PM. By 9:30 PM, we still hadn’t received our full order — only a 3 salads and cus-cus soup with no broth only dry cu cus. Some fries, for the kids and they arrived cold. When we asked if we can talk to the manager so we can have some explanation why 2 hrs later we still don’t have our main food served, she (the manager) came out with the word”WHATS IS THE PROBLEM!?!? she came out with an attitude like she was ready to fight with us. Instead of apologizing, she raised her voice like we are the problem and in the end she asked: “What do you want me to do? Should I go in the kitchen and cook your food!?!?!? Absolutely unprofessional.
We were so excited to try this place again because we were last year and it was great however, the experience was extremely disappointing. The service was absolutely horrendous. After sitting for about an hour and a half, we still had to ask for drinks, then had to ask just to place our food order. When the food finally arrived, it came out sporadically, with some people in our group still waiting. When we asked about the remaining dishes, we were met with irritation and anger, as if the situation was somehow our fault. This completely ruined our night. We had left our kids at home, hoping for a rare evening out with friends, only to leave hungry and made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
The atmosphere was nice, but unfortunately the service and food completely overshadowed the experience. We were a large group with a reservation and were genuinely excited to visit. Instead, the service was extremely disorganized: food arrived at vastly different times - some of it more than 1.5 hours after we were seated, and several drinks never arrived at all. When we asked to speak with management, the interaction only made things worse. Rather than addressing the issues or offering any solution, we were met with an angry approach that made us feel blamed instead of cared for. We ultimately left more than two hours later, still hungry and feeling dismissed and frustrated.
Two hours after our reservation, only part of our food arrived — a few salads and fries, not the full meal. No explanation, no apology. The manager was defensive and even sarcastic, asking if she should go cook for us herself. Terrible service.
We waited two hours past our reservation and were only served a few salads and fries — not the full order. The manager offered no apology and made a sarcastic comment suggesting she should cook the food herself. This is not how customers should be treated.
We loved celebrating my birthday here!
Loved the Dome experience
We took the tasting menu and as always, every dish was outstanding. I love that Koz changed the menu with each season.
My family and I had an amazing experience last night at Koz. I had reserved the dome for my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint. I had no idea what to expect but I was really impressed. Our waitress Nathalie was very attentive and knowledegable. She was very accomodating to my 2 children, 2 and 8 years old, going out of her way to help make sure their food arrived earlier, that they got fun drinks and made the experience as memorable for them as for us , the adults. the food was incredible and arrived hot( another thing I was worried about in the domes as they are outside)! It was a set menu but you could always add choices if needed( we chose not to as it was plenty of food). She even brought out a fun dessert and candle so we could sing happy birthday to my husband. It was such a cozy and special experience-I highly recommend!
I enjoyed the dome and the service but the foods we had are not really 200+ worthy.
Great people, good food
Excellent food, atmosphere, service! Coming back soon.
We enjoyed a fabulous family lunch today at Koz. Everything was perfect - the restaurant is welcoming with tasteful decor & view to the lake. Seating is comfortable and tables are spaced out well. Staff are all so welcoming and helpful (and forgiving of our poor French). Food presentation, preparation and flavor were excellent. They also have many gluten free options. Loved Koz! Merci pour tout!
Food was very good and the two women responsible for service to our table were friendly, helpful, available and had good sense of humour, always respecting boundaries. That was the highlight of the experience for me. I gave a 4 for Atmosphere because I thought the seating was cramped and the chairs were not very comfortable.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at Bistro Koz, our first dining experience in Magog. It was a chilly fall day, but we had a cozy table overlooking Lac Magog. Our server provided an excellent recommendation from the wine list. He suggested several wines based on our taste preferences, and the food selection we had chosen. The wines are sourced by the two in-house sommeliers, and many of the wines on the list are not available in Ontario, including the Turkish wine we had. The meal was delicious, very flavourful and authentic Mediterranean and paired so well with our bottle of wine. Next time we will ask for the food all together as there was a wait between courses and we would have preferred our food mezze style. Highly recommend!
Amazing food and service ! Try the discovery menu and signature martini .
