We came for breakfast. It was pretty busy and unfortunately there was only one server for around 15 tables. Because of this I felt like the service was not as good as it could’ve been. It took a long time to get our order placed and to receive the check once finished. Obviously not her fault but the restaurant should have more people on service in my opinion. The food was alright but more expensive when compared to some other breakfast places nearby for the same or less quality. Another thing to mention is the bathrooms are up two flights of stairs and they would be very difficult for someone with limited mobility or elderly to get to.

We went to 1640 Bistro for dinner on a Sunday night at the beginning of October, a party of four. The place was crowded and we had no reservation, so we had to wait a bit to be seated. The place is fairly big from what we've seen, with a large indoor dining area, a large bar with seating around it, and a pretty large terrace. The interior has an upscale feel to it, the terrace, with plastic furniture, not so much... Service was average, nothing bad, but nothing special either, just going through the motions. The food was good, well prepared and tasty. We paired the food with local IPAs. We spent about 70 CAD per person (about 50 USD), that's including tip. A bit expensive we thought, you're paying a premium for the location.

We were seated at a small little round cocktail table where our French onion soup plate hardly fit on! The soup was not the best for the cost of $17. The cheese just clumped together as if it was reheated in the microwave. The hamburger was good, just needed a pinch of salt to bring the buger taste out. The music did not match the atmosphere, too loud for the dining area.

Came for lunch and tried the onion soup, very cheesy- the way I like it! The bourguignon beef jowl was so tender and served with pasta and seasonal veggies. I added a foi gras to my meal and it was amazing!

Best meal and service we had in Quebec. The escargo and steak special was amazing. Ambiance was spectacular. Ellen provided amazing service and a great Shirley Temple for my daughter.

We would like to clarify that this is not a matter of discrimination, but simply a matter of availability. As our staff member explained, walk-ins are always welcome, and we reserve space for walk-in customers until we reach our maximum capacity. Once we are full, we unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests until a table becomes available. In that case, customers are more than welcome to try again a little later. This policy applies equally to everyone, regardless of who they are. It is simply a matter of available seating, nothing more.

Food was amazing and service was great. It was second time visit yesterday and my gf and I had such a wonderful time. Especially the host lady wearing a glasses was so kind, friendly and professional. I didn't make a reservation on Sat but she kindly offered a seat at the bar and it was perfect for us. Bartender was such a pro and food quality was incredible as usual. Thank you Edward

We had a wonderful dinner here! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, specially the waiter his name is Etienne . He was so friendly and funny as well . Thank you Etienne for making the evening so special. the atmosphere was lovely. We especially enjoyed the beautiful view, which made the evening even more special. Everything was excellent, and we would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to others!

If this place had 6 stars we would have given it 6 stars. All 4 of us had different dinners that were amazing but the absolute winner was the maple whiskey glazed porkchop with goat cheese, scallops potatoes,carrots, asparagus and sweet salsa, to die for. Our waiter "Anthony" was fabulous as well. Thanks for the delicious experience, 11 out of 12.

The restaurant is very nice. Reservations are needed. Server was very good. I went there specifically for the beouf Bourguignon. It was a dry dish and not to my liking. I prefer a stew, but that's just me. They also had no dessert because they closed the kitchen at 6 pm for a large party. Bad planning. The canned music was quite loud in the bar where they tried to seat me at first.

We had breakfast at 1640 bistro yesterday. The French Toast dish and the the Breakfast Poutine. All was very delicious and we were looked after by exceptional staff, thank you all! Pricing is very reasonable given the position of the restaurant. No taking advantage of the tourism aspect here..... We went back for a couple of drinks in the afternoon. It was very busy indeed with a hand full of cruise ships having arrived. The staff were very friendly and rushed off their feet at the same time. Everything was faultless on this occasion as well. Sitting outside in the sun, people watching. Perfect!
