I’ve been to a few Baton Rouge locations over the years, mostly in the West Island, so I was excited to finally try the LaSalle location. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to my previous experiences. We arrived just before 5 p.m. on a Thursday, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet. There was only one other table occupied, which honestly caught me off guard. I expected it to be busier, especially at the start of dinner service. The staff were friendly, but service felt slower than expected considering how empty the restaurant was. I did have to flag someone down for a refill, and there seemed to be quite a few staff members preparing for their shifts. We came specifically to try the lobster rolls that have been heavily advertised. While they looked great in the promotional photos, they didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. They weren’t bad, but at around $35, I personally didn’t find them worth the price. I understand lobster is expensive, but I expected a bit more for the cost. We also ordered a burger, which was good. For about $24, the portion was generous enough that I took half home. The spinach dip was good this visit, although I’ve found it can be hit-or-miss. My only complaint is that there never seems to be quite enough dip for all the chips. Food took roughly 20–30 minutes to arrive, which felt a little long given how quiet the dining room was. The menu also felt smaller than I remembered, and there weren’t as many options that appealed to me. In total, our bill came to about $93 for one appetizer, two mains, and a soft drink. It wasn’t a bad meal, but for the price, I left feeling underwhelmed. We usually spend our Thursday nights elsewhere and decided to switch things up this week. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t give me a strong reason to come back over some of the other local options. Not a never again just yeah lol
