So sad! We’re spending a whole week around the corner on Dorchester. We plan to eat out for 8 days. We walked in to Balos to look at the menu and we had a couple of questions. The owner (?) was so rude and dismissive that we decided to spend our money elsewhere. On another note, the prices were also out of line. Moules for $32 and then an extra $14 for frites? I asked if they had a “cinq a sept” and the hostess responded : “Yes, we have menus”. Ouch!

Very good Mediterranean food. My seafood sald was large and well stocked. Fried zucchini was crisp. The only downside is the Westmount prices.

DELICIOUS food. Must try the grilled vegetables, the shredded romaine salad (they’re charcoal grilled) and the Chilean sea bass. The service by Rahad and the team was very warm and welcoming

Five of us went for my birthday last weekend. The meal was one of the best I ever had (grilled shrimp with Greek potatoes and rapini with a glass of red wine) and the service was excellent. Kudos! 👏

I find the menu limited and tired. It needs an update. The service is uneven, and the food likewise. It really depends what night you go and who is managing the restaurant. The last few times I went were so disapointing that I will not go back. I much prefer Vago and Kif Kif

I live near Balos and have gone frequently. Tonight it was mostly empty. I was served my main meal very quickly, although it wasn't exactly hot. After i finished my plate was removed and after about 15 minutes i was asked if I wanted dessert or coffee, I said that that moment had long passed and asked for my cheque. As I mentioned the place was empty- unexcusable service, with nasty attitude.

Incredible experience at BALOS. We were a group of 6 and were accommodated with such a warm welcome. Our host was so kind, recommended such incredible choices for a group and was so, so kind. Every dish was so fresh, portions were generous and the quality was superb. Looking forward to going back! This restaurant is a great option for a group, or for a semi-formal date night out.

Entrees and fish dishes are amazing - also very nice selection of Greek wines. Love this place. Updatesummer 2024 - they have a Greek Rosé wine called La Vie en Rose which is worth a try. Also want to highlight the home made cheese cake, yes home made and most excellent.
