I went there for breakfast .. probably got there around 9.. I don’t usually go out for breakfast though but because of timing and whatever here I was.. starving! So I hd the combo of breakfast sandwich veg with bacon, « hash browns » and traded a coffee for a fresh squeezed orange juice. It was AMAZING!! I may become a breakfast person someday based on how delicious that sandwich was! And the hash brown was a beautiful potatoe galette with just the right touch of sea salt! Fabulous.. service was lovely and the music was great too. Highly recommend. Actually I’m going to go back for lunch soon because that Reuben is calling my name!!
this place has an edible midas touch. everything is delicious, the ribs, the sausages, the slaws, the briskets, everything. it's no surprise that their smoked meat poutine is probably one of the best you can get anywhere. beautiful gravy, quality cheese curds, and best of all the juicy smoked meat with a bark to die for. PS. food for thought, you should consider copying what dinette triple crown used to do (R.I.P.) and provide the option for picnic baskets to eat out by the canal!
Solid! Just go!
Amazing sandwiches. Deff. A spot to hit if visiting montreal
best in town !
I haven’t been a huge fan of the traditional smoked meat sandwiches I’ve had around the city. I find them quite one dimensional in flavour and unfortunately a little dry. The Reuben I shared here was enjoyable because the sauerkraut added some much needed acidity and crunch. Plus the bread was toasted, which also added to the overall experience. I also really enjoy the smokiness of this place’s Texan style bbq. I also shared a brisket sandwich with my friend and we both agreed that this was even better than the Reuben. It was flavourful, tender, and juicy. The fries and coleslaw were very good accompaniments to round out the richness of the two sandwiches. My new fav bbq place in Mtl.
While we were at the market we decided to go to this Deli. I have to say everything was delicious. The tuna sandwich had hints of lemon and pickles all mixed wonderfully, the grilled chesse’s buttery bread was just the level of crisp and savoury. Finally the poutine’s sauce was sublime with a hint of vinegar that’s lemony and smoky at the same time like nothing i’ve had before. Overall amazing and friendly staff makes it better
The sandwich is good , but should be served piping hot. It was room temp at best :/ I also think that for that price, there should be a bit more smoked meat in it. The poutine is very good but the smoked gravy is a bit too salty , since the saint-Guillaume cheese is salty, it’s a bit too much
Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 10/10 Food: 11/10
Deadly Rueben, pairs really nice with Stewart’s Black Cherry.
Been wanting to try Aylwin for a long time and finally got the chance. It definitely does not disappoint. Everything was top notch. Would love to try their full bbq offering in the summer.
I ate THE BEST Ruben sandwich Montreal has probably seen in decades. When smoke meat meets proper bbq culture with a splash of real deli aesthetics. This place was a goldmine as a booth at the market but as a brick and mortar it’s a gift from the brisket gods 🙏
Amazing Smoked Meat
BUDDY I liked this place, I liked it a lot. I'm not a Montreal local, so don't freaking come for me if you don't agree, but the smoked meat sandwich here might be the best I've had. Man look at that goddamn cross section. Destroyed this thing at like 9:30am mind you Service was fast and good, they even pronounced my name right first try. Just some great folks here and delicious food, next time I'm back id love to try some breakfast food at 3 in the afternoon.
Ordered my ruben sandwich Fat received medium to lean pretty small portion. Not impressed would not recommend
I'm not joking, the best smoked meat sandwich in the city. The fries are to die for. This is my new favorite place!
Ricotta pancakes with strawberries - best pancakes I tried in North America! This place is famous for bbq meats, brisket especially, but everything else they offer is equally delicious! Really happy they opened permanent shop at Atwater market.
Delicious food and lovely staff.
Delicious food and excellent price
A must-try for locals and tourists. Aylwin BBQ has consistently been serving the best brisket in Montreal for years. Adding deli options like Montreal smoked meat through a year-round location indoors is an awesome move. They put the smoke in smoked meat.
Great barbecue, burgers and smoked meat. Equally good pancakes and breakfast sandwich. Becoming my go to breakfast place.
I like Aylwin Deli. I just have no idea what it is supposed to be. It's laid out like a cafe. It's called a Deli. But the menu is not a deli menu except for a few items...and it's listed as a BBQ restaurant. Despite the conceptual confusion, the food here is pretty good and well priced. I had the ricotta pancakes, which isn't a common item and this was the least I recall paying for the dish in Montreal. The guy behind the counter provided amazing service. All of the seating is hightop counter seating, which I don't love but since I was alone this time anyways it was fine.
Super chill staff and the food is amazing The reuben sandwich is to die for 🤤 It has medium fat meat, melted cheese and choucroute. The brisket is not bad but the Reuben really stole the show and i’ll be back for more. Their fries are very good as well. I’ll be back for more and I will have to try their poutine as both the meat and the fries are amazing! I recommend this spot. They also have breakfast items which I did not get a chance to try but seemed very good from what I saw in people’s plates.
This is where you go when you want something quick without settling for something forgettable. It works just as well for breakfast as it does for a midday stop, thoughtfully made rather than rushed. Everything we tried was filling, well-priced, and clearly handled with care. The brisket sandwich—tender, juicy, and balanced, with nothing overpowering the meat. The breakfast sandwich with sausage was just as impressive, easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had so far, satisfying without being heavy. After this visit, it’s hard not to want to come back and work through the rest of it—because if these sandwiches are any indication, the rest is worth the time.
