I ordered from here a bit close to closing time. That’s on me, I thought they were open till later. However, they gave me onions rings that were fried pre-covid and forgotten under the fryer for 7 years. Tonight at close, they finally swept them out from underneath and decided to put them in my bag. Some of them were rock solid, I dropped one on my good table and it dented it. It hit the table so hard the neighbours dog started barking. I gave one of the “softer” ones an honest go and I’m pretty sure I chipped a tooth. By the time I was done chewing, my jaw felt like I had gone the whole 12 rounds with Mike Tyson… The burgers were good though 👍

I’m very disappointed by what I saw during my recent visit. Several food safety concerns stood out and need immediate attention from management and the local health food and safety . 1. The man at the cash register also prepared my onion rings, handling change, then using his bare hands to pick onion rings from the frozen container 2. Lettuce toppings were left sitting openly on the prep station (stacked), not in proper food safe containers or under temperature control (should be at 4°C or below). When I asked, the employee said, “That’s how we prepare burgers here,” which doesn’t seem compliant with food safety standards. 3. The same person was later seen standing with his hands tucked under his armpits while talking to the cook, the same person who had handled my food earlier. 4. When cleaning trays, he was wiping around the garbage area with the same cloth used for trays. No paper liner was placed in my tray until I asked for one. 5. A&W usually serves root beer in a cold mug for dine in, but I was given a paper cup instead. Overall, I found the sanitation practices extremely concerning and not up to A&W’s standards. I strongly recommend that this location be inspected for proper hygiene and food safety compliance. I will also be contacting the local food and health department to report these issues. Typical A&W. Food is good. Cleanliness is decent. Took 20min of waiting for online order with 2 people in front of me. Not the first time, this a&w will test your patience.
