so disgusting. literally inedible. had to throw it all away. what's with all the high reviews? some of the worst food i've ever tasted. the mekong sandwich was so sweet it was like a dessert. it tasted crazy gross. i could not eat the buffalo wings either. the sauce wasn't like buffalo sauce but rather a funky cheese yeast sauce. but the worst part was the wing itself. mushy texture and disgusting flavour. the dragon bowl was a tiny salad and a small block of unseasoned tofu. the sauce, again, was a terrible thick yeast dressing, way too sweet and way too salty. the berry un-cheesecake has a very high water content for the crust the filling and the compote. like severely incompetent preparation on all fronts. usually with a bad dessert you can find something to salvage. i enjoy vegan food and this was terrible. made me feel sick. sham restaurant.

Very filling food, with really good portions sizes!
Everything was awesome! Everything tasted great and the service was super. You need to try their Choco-pomme cake, it was delicious! It was a quiet night (bring a Tuesday), so Atmosphere was relaxed.☺️
Fantasic vegan spot! Such a fun menu, and highly recommend the hibiscus lemonade :)
Food is really good! One of my favorite vegan restaurants, but the prices are just ridiculous. 3$ for an extra potato wedge containing 5 wedge…. 60$ for 2 sandwiches a cookie and an extra potato wedge too expensive for what it is.
I had the mango lassi, tempeh bites and shared a carrot cake. All good (taste, freshness, wholesome, ethical). My friends had the burger, creamsicle smoothies, mimosas, sandwiches and Choco banana pie. Everyone enjoyed the food but the vegan factor, atmosphere and service was the highlight. It’s a beautiful place to be and the servers were so polite, patient and proactive even when we were all spacing out. They’re one of the trailblazers of the vegan scene in Montreal so I’ll give them that. Side note: Before I ordered I asked a staff member if the workers are treated better these days because I heard horror stories from the past. He replied convincingly and happily that yes everything is good now and the staff are treated much better by the new management and they get asked that a lot. I took that as the full truth but when I got home I read another review from 6 months ago that said the staff are paid less than the minimum wage (because it’s a restaurant so they can get away with it legally — that’s the tipping culture here but I don’t think it’s right. They should be paid at least minimum wage just as a protection measure whether or not changes are made to the business. The prices of the food seem high enough to cover it but maybe not because of greedy landlords ? I don’t think workers should have to take less than their work is worth when a client comes in knowingly not willing to pay tip because of their financial situation regardless of the price of the food. While people shouldn’t go out to eat if they can’t afford tipping at restaurants that expect tip (not all restaurants do — you can try places that don’t expect tips like Larry’s but you’re going to pay more and it isn’t vegan), it shouldn’t have to turn into a scene that humiliates multiple parties. If I was a waiter I would let it slide with the customer because it’s just one person whereas the employer/government create the problem in the first place that needs to be solved (charge 15% more for food and write no tips on the menu and increase hourly salaries by however much they would make usually with tips or when a client pays less than 15% for tip the employer will cover the difference)
Came here for dinner and had the Dragon Bowl, Okonomiyaki Bowl, Bali Bowl, and Le Royal Cheeze. Also had the taquitos and Aux Vivres Mezze & Chapati to start. Taquitos weren’t too bad. The Mezze and Chipati dish was much better - the smoked carrot pate was amazing. The Dragon and Okonomiyaki bowls were both a hit. The Bali Bowl was awkward though. The dressing was much too tart and didn’t go with the ingredients in the salad. The burger was good too, but the potato wedges were on the soft side (instead of being nice and crispy). Overall a pretty good place for veg meals!
Love their food filling, yummy, and healthy with nice portions. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Overall, a great experience! If you’re in Montreal and want to try vegan or vegetarian food, this is a great place to go.
Delicious brunch platter!! Huge portion. Plus the server was super nice
My family and I love Aux Vivres! The food is amazing, the service is always great and we feel the love every time we go there!
Tried Aux Vivres Plateau in Montreal and overall it was a solid vegan dining experience. The food presentation was clean and appealing. The burger (Okonomiyaki-style) had a nice texture and flavor balance, and the potato wedges were well-seasoned and crispy on the outside. The chipotle mayo added a good kick and tied the plate together nicely. The taquitos were decent—crispy and served with a creamy dipping sauce—but they felt a bit standard compared to the burger, which stood out more. Portion sizes were fair, and the menu offers good variety for plant-based options. Pricing is on the slightly higher side (~$55 for the meal), but expected for a specialty vegan spot in Montreal. Service was smooth, and the overall vibe felt casual and welcoming.
The food is good, but their online delivery service is awful and it always takes an eternity to get here... if we get it. It was the last time we ordered from there.
Honestly, the BLT was one of the worst vegan dishes I have ever had at a vegan restaurant. I have been a vegan for 15+ years, and this dish tasted wrong. I do not think enough thought was put into the flavor profile. I also think relying on tempeh as a protein source for most dishes is a mistake. The drinks were good though and the environment and staff were great.
Really really really good.
They have a little jazz group once a month or so and it’s such a good vibe.
Tried their Caro Thai, which was not even close to what the dishes are in Thailand or the Thai authentic taste/flavours It was just a mix of vegetables cooked with coconut milk, no khafir, lemon grass etc Bland and tasteless
🤢😵💫 I stoped by for a healthy lunch yesterday late afternoon. I had the Dragon bowl, with tempeh. Afterwards I was not feeling too good. I started having nausea in the evening, stomach cramps, and feeling very weak. A few hours later was very sick and ever had a fever. It lasted all night and Im still sick today. I had a full blown food poisoning after eating the Dragon Bowl from Aux Vivres. Lost a whole day of work.
dragon wrap extra sauce soooooo delicious
Great food and lovely staff. ♥️
Such delicious and healthy food! Love the menu here... friendly service and a cute vibe. Great music too! Will be back for sure...
Been coming here for many years! BLT is my fave sandwich. Every time I’m in Montreal, I always go here.
I usually have a good experience at Aux Vivres. However tonight, when my friend went to pick her order up, she noticed that her cup of smoothie had ice in it, which was unusual. At $8 a smoothie, we'd expect no ice cubes. When she asked the server at the counter if she could get a smoothie without ice, she replied it wasn't that cold outside (?). My friend let it slide, but then she left to prepare the soup and put it with the rest of my friend's order near the kitchen counter. My friend had to ask another server to get her order, because she never came back. When my friend got home I opened the soup and pulled out a very long blonde hair from it, it was litterally sitting at the top of the soup. It was kind of surprising that someone with really long hair would have it loose, not tied in any way, and handle food.
The tempeh was the best I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly, and all the meals we tried were really delicious. The coffee and tea were excellent as well.
The food is delicious, the menu has a broad variety, the portions are great, the environment is super cozy, and the staff is friendly! 😊
