Rude staff, humiliating experience — will never return This was my third visit to Arome and absolutely my last. I made a reservation for 34 people to celebrate after a wedding. Some families were 15–17 minutes late due to traffic and I received two call, letting me know they are waiting for us, I apologize and communicate our situation, that I was stocked in traffic to please let the others in. They eventually seated our group, but what came next was completely unacceptable. When a family member arrived and politely checked in under our reservation, she was met with coldness and rudeness from the staff no grace, no hospitality, just attitude. When more family arrived shortly after 1:30 PM, the manager came over aggressively, refused to listen, and said "Why should we make an exception for you?" all while another customer who walked in at 1:45 PM was seated with zero issue. ( I guess being black, equal being discriminated and disrespected). The worst part? After turning away members of my family including guests with babies the manager walked away laughing with her staff at our expense. We were humiliated and made to feel like we didn't belong there. I apologized multiple times. I was respectful throughout. My family deserved the same in return. This is not how you treat paying customers especially a party of 20 celebrating a special occasion. Arome, your food may be fine, but your staff and management need serious retraining in basic human decency. Completely unacceptable. 0/10.

I went there on a Sunday, the manager, Vanessa was being very rude, hostile and unprofessional. We booked a table of 20 and 3 people came late and she didn’t want to let them sit with us even tho we had space available at our table and they had baby twins. She made them wait in the lobby with 1 hour and 30mins left till close. However she let another couple in 5 mins before them with no reservations. Won’t be coming back.
I was dining here yesterday (May 3rd, around 1-2pm), and witnessed the manager and hostess/front desk staff mistreat a family that had showed up for the brunch service. They were refused entry and spoken to with very offensive tones by the manager and desk staff. I will no longer be dining here after this experience. It made me and the people around me very uncomfortable.
We had a very pleasant dinner at Arôme in the Casino du Lac-Leamy. The elegant setting with lake views sets a nice tone, and the service was exceptional—our server Antoine was attentive and professional throughout. The starters were a highlight. The Caesar salad was a cut above the usual, and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the rich mushroom soup. My prime rib arrived overcooked with the wrong sauce (likely someone else’s order), but the staff corrected it quickly and delivered a perfectly cooked, delicious replacement. My wife’s sliced steak was good, though the “Bullseye” sauce was quite strong and overpowered the meat a bit. Access to the dessert buffet was a lovely touch, offering a nice variety to end the meal on a sweet note. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience with strong food (once the minor hiccup was fixed) and standout service. Small suggestion: For a restaurant of this calibre, a clearer or more enforced dress code would help. Seeing jogging pants and ball caps alongside suits and gowns feels a bit jarring in such an upscale setting.
We came for a family birthday and thought we'd be having a fine dining experience. Seating in the back by the bar is not very nice atmospheric wise. By the windows is much nicer. It took forever for us to order a drink and then more time to receive them and a drink was forgotten. Server never apologized and ignored us multiple times and we could not order a second drink until our mains came. We noticed the French speaking tables around us got a lot of attention. We were not a French speaking group. It was really disappointing. The steak tartare was meh and the tempura ok. A few in our party said their steaks were good. Will not be ever going back.
Attempted to go to their Sunday brunch. Had a 1:30pm seating reserved and by 1:20pm there was a massive hoard of people cramming the stairwell to get in. After waiting almost 20 minutes passed our 1:30pm reservation to even get into the restaurant, we left and went to another establishment for lunch. At 2pm I received a text saying our table was ready. Very disappointed as I had wanted to check out this place for a long time and finally had the opportunity to but the lack of care or organization would not have me try again.
Sunday brunch. Make sure to reserve in advance. Pretty nice. The buffet has a good variety of dishes with very nice salads, the classics (eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, crepes), rotating mains (prime rib and pork ham today), few other hot dishes (pasta, chicken, salmon, beans, chicken chowder), cheeses, cold cuts, shrimp, crab legs and lots of different mini desserts. It's lacking in fruits, cereals, yogurts/cottage and juices. Service was just ok. The waiter was a bit distracted so would take a while to get coffee refills, change of plates and the bill. The resto has an elegant vibe, but is very well lit, and the views to the lake were super nice.
I’ve been to Arôme twice with friends, and both visits were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly each time, and the atmosphere made the evening feel relaxed and enjoyable. Service was friendly and professional, and the lakeside setting adds something special to the experience. Looking forward to coming back again — I’ll add photos on my next visit.
Overall, it was mid. The good: the venue itself is gorgeous and the service is fantastic. Our server was very attentive and friendly, and even gave us a round of free drinks to make up for the disappointing experience. The cocktails were also amazing. The bartender did a great job, and the pricing is honestly a steal. At most fine dining restaurants you expect $15–$20 per cocktail, but here they were $10–$12. The bad: the duck Wellington was cooked from frozen instead of fresh. When I took a bite, the middle still was not fully thawed. When you go somewhere for fine dining, you expect the food to be cooked fresh. When they brought it out a second time, it was extremely dry. It honestly felt like they just reheated the one I had already tried instead of making a new one. We also had the catch of the day (salmon). The middle was once again undercooked, and we found a couple small bones in it. I know bones can happen and it is not always avoidable, but when you are paying for fine dining, these are the kinds of details you are paying to avoid.
The portions are enormous! I was not expecting that, the value for the amout of food you get is amazing. The food is also delicious. The service was a bit slow and it took a while after we were done to get the check but the server was overall friendly, professional and helpful.
Food was fantastic. Staff were excellent and bilingual. This was my first time dinning here and I was very happy with the experience.
