Disappointing. Waited over 45 minutes for 3 sandwiches, then the server brought one and forgot the other two. The sandwiches were sub par. I could’ve made better ones at home. You’re better off trying one of the many other cafes in the area.
What guests say about Alfred Café Buvette Le Plateau
This is a café that is much appreciated for its warm atmosphere, tasteful decor, and pleasant patio. Many customers highlight good coffee, delicious sandwiches and pastries, as well as service that is often friendly and fast. On the downside, a few reviews mention high prices, service mistakes, and the occasional uneven experience. A good choice if you’re looking for a cute, welcoming place, but not ideal if you’re very sensitive to value for money.

Great cafe. Atmosphere is lovely.
Nice cafe. Lovely design.
Decided to try out this location as it looked like a good spot to have brunch and a cocktail with friends. The food was very good but a little pricey for what it was. The cocktail was very good and it had a great punch to start off the day. Beautiful terrasse and a nicely decorated interior. Didn't like the concept of going to the counter to order. They even forgot to prepare a coffee order from the group i was with and it wasn't even that busy. A little disappointing overall.
I visited this small cafe on my vacation to Montreal. I was still learning French, but the waiter was very kind about it. The cafe was also very cozy inside, and the food was very tasty. My favourite dish was the spinich pastry. If you're going there, you've git to try it. Bon appetit!
scratches an itch, amazing food and iced dirty chaï
Good place
Cool vibe here but the Aperol spritz is SUPER tiny (not good value for money at all).
Best bacon and egg sandwich of my life
Lovely café space to enjoy coffee, good conversation, or get some work done with a relaxed natural light atmosphere. And the coffee is really good.
Excellent +++
Have been wanting to go here for the longest time! We went at around 11pm Friday night and there was a line outside. Unfortunately there was so many people we were not able to sit down as they were closing soon. We decided to settle for take out so we skipped the line so go to the counter and order. It was very fast. I got a hot chocolate and a carrot cake and it was amazing!! Totally wish I got there earlier so I had an opportunity to sit down and take in the beauty of the cafe. Totally recommend!
💚 Very cozy place to enjoy a nice morning. I had a Almond croissants my favorite 😍 🥐 & a breakfast 🥚 "Oeuf a la coque". With a dirty chai. 🍵😉🤙🏼
Went there on a date and we got a glass of milk instead of the cold drinks we ordered. Flavor of my London fog was very faint if not non existent and I had a big blob of honey at the bottom of my glass. Decor was was cool but apart from that I'd steer clear especially for the price.
The reception gave me a table next to toilet. That really ruined the whole experience. I don’t know if I want to come back here 😫
I’m in town for the week and kept walking by this cute little place. Finally decided to stop in, was totally worth it! The waiters, Anthony and Remi, brought such good energy, they are an amazing representation of hospitality. Their willingness to adapt to my different requests was a joy to experience! A must-go while in Montreal, be sure to say go habs go to Anthony if you see him!!!
Cafe was good .
Christmas decor did not disappoint. Very cozy and beautiful but the wait time was plenty. The drinks and deserts were delicious too!
Worst matcha ever. I was hurling green vomit after consuming. Horrible horrible experience, it tasted off but I drank half of it, immediate felt like gagging and throwing up.The matcha or something else in the latte was expired/spoiled. I would add photos but I’m sparing you the details of green coloured vomit in snow right outside the cafe. I called the cafe to warn them to check ingredients so other people don’t get sick, and got a response that everything was “fresh and opened today”. I didn’t get an apology or anything.
Terrible experience here. We (two of us) waited 1 1/2 hours for food that never came. When we ordered at 11:45 am, we were told they could not make one item so we ordered a different one. After half an hour of waiting for our food, we asked about our order and they told us they couldn't make the other thing we ordered. Then maybe 20 minutes later they brought that dish out saying actually they could make that order. Then they never brought the other dish out. When we asked about it again - at 1:15 pm, about an hour and a half after paying for it - they told us they couldn't make it after all (it was eggs, cheese and bread??). They reimbursed us for the dish they never made us, but never explained how it happened or offered any compensation for wasting our time and ignoring us. The restaurant was half empty when we arrived and they constantly tried to deliver us other people's orders. Other people came, ate and left while this was going on. There was no excuse besides disorganization and incompetence. It really ruined our Valentine's Day morning and I would not recommend this place to someone else.
Visited with a friend while their Christmas decorations were still up. It's really cozy, pastries were great as well as coffee. I would definitely recommend this one as it's both relaxing a little bit magical thanks to the decor.
