It is not at all as you portray it online. The portions for the Montreal show were not even quarters of what the videos of other locations show. For a total of 500$+ paid? Not worth it at all. Overhyped and overpriced. We were scraping sauces with a carrot? And half a cucumber? We were given a nacho with sauce as a first course? It was a fun concept, a once and done experience but unfortunately not well organized, not fairly priced and definitely not rewarding.
Reviews / Ratings for 7 Paintings - Montréal
A very unique and memorable dining experience. 7 Paintings in Montréal stands out for its creative concept, combining food, storytelling, and art into one immersive evening. It’s definitely not your typical restaurant, which makes it exciting right from the start. Each course is thoughtfully presented and tied into a specific theme or “painting,” which adds a fun and interactive element to the meal. The dishes are creative and visually appealing, and you can tell a lot of effort goes into both presentation and concept. The atmosphere is intimate and engaging, especially if you enjoy trying something different or sharing an experience with a group. It feels more like an event than just dinner. That said, the experience may not be for everyone. The pacing can feel a bit long at times, and for the price, some dishes are more impressive than others. You’re really paying for the overall concept as much as the food itself. Overall, a great spot if you’re looking for something out of the ordinary in Montréal. Fun, creative, and worth trying at least once.
The full experience was amazing. We enjoyed the interactive visuals, creative acitivites, and tasteful food. TBH, I expected the food to be mediocre but to my surprise, it was wow!
Very good service, delicious food, very fun and dynamic atmosphere, and efficient and helpful service
Great fun!! Do it
The service was the best part of the evening, Justin was absolutely fantastic. The team was very attentive as a whole. My partner is vegan and they were able to modify the vegetarian menu to reflect, which was great. The food overall however was a little underwhelming. We both left hungry and felt like some of the courses could have been more substantial. From a cost to product perspective, it is overpriced. Multiple courses were more gimmicky than actual food (namely the raw veggies with the sauce painting). Overall, we had a good time, but would only consider returning or recommending to others if the menu were to be reworked to match the price point.
I decided to try this spot for my birthday. Overall, a truly fun and unique dining experience. Service was attentive and flexible with change, as needed. The creative aspect was fun, at times, the "show" dragged as the courses were being prepared. The food that most reviewers are complaining about, is the most creative part. Clearly playing with your food, and eating mostly fresh and pureed veggies, is not for those people. I loved the steak course, the most. Desserts, less so, sadly...and typically my fave course. Beet carpaccio was great. The puzzle aspect, cute. A fun date night. In most aspects, the experience was better than the dining. But 5 out of 7 courses were good. Met some awesome table mates, too. If you go with a party of two, you may make some friends at this unique spot. Lots of things to discuss. Can't say that about most dinner spots.
Amazing service! Amazing experience! Absolutely gorgeous!!
Really fun event for a group of friends! Just enough participation involved, with some really delicious and beautiful plates. Narration was a bit slow but entertaining.
The waiter was a complete noob. He almost got me super sick: after asking at each and every course if the food contain gluten (I have coeliac disease) he responded a clear no regarding a chocolate crumble that was part of the dessert. Without my friends intervention I would have eaten it. And been sick for days. He did verbaly apologize but no compensation was offered. On top off all that he had the audacity to include a service charge. I expect at least that to be refunded. 50$ wine pairing was cheap. 2 out 3 wines were low quality bad temperature. The room was awkard. I felt like I was dining in a corridor. Food ranged from so-so to ok to normal. Somes dishes were fun most of them were boring. The projection look like they were made in 1985, like first gen computer generated animation. Not impressive. 7 paintings... more like 7 mistakes.
The overall experience was really fun and the service was absolutely perfect, but the food was a bit underwhelming considering the price. I understand that it’s probably very logistically hard to serve everyone at the same time, but also some elements of the food was sometimes colder than probably intended.
Nice expérience but having to call the guy downstairs to make the drinks was annoying
My wife and I were very pleased with both Fatine and Claudia, they were the very best. Excelente employees. Both deserve praise
Excellent show, food: menu kids first course it was onion rings and it was really cold and full of oil, adults menu beef more than cooked it was dry and hard, 2 salads in the courses it was disappointing, i had really big expectations because of the price, but food was really disappointed, drinks welcome cocktail it was really good, I asked for wine pairing not all the courses had wine and i didn't know which wine i drank because they didn't present the wine they just served it and that's it. Service it was good. As a chef I think I would do something magical, you have everything to do it, like something really magical for having the best experience ever.
Thoroughly entertaining, attentive staff and delicious food.
Lovely evening, beautiful experienced and excellent customer service!
Beautiful moment with food and art at the same time!
I had an amazing experience at Seven Paintings! The service was truly outstanding and the staff made the whole evening feel special. The food was also very good and the overall atmosphere made the experience even better. What really stood out to me was how much they care about customer service. If you ever have a concern and reach out to the director, he responds quickly and is very active in making sure guests are satisfied. That level of attention really makes the restaurant stand out and shows how much they value their customers. I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. It’s definitely a place worth visiting!
It was a great experience, even if some of the interactive features were missing or not working properly. To make this exceptional. the features advertised should be the same as what is included in the experience. We still loved it but made the choice to look past this, which not every customer will do.
One of the most creative immersive experiences to date. Attention to detail, awesome animation. Can't stop telling everyone.
the experience and the activities were fun, the food was great and the service was stellar. Overall well worth the price tag for the experience
I really wanted to like this experience and went in with moderate expectations, but it was extremely disappointing. At about $250 per person with the wine pairing (much of which went undrunk) plus extra charges, the value simply isn’t there. The main issue was the food. One course consisted of three paper-thin slices of meat that had clearly been sitting out too long — they had dried onto the plate and were sticking to the ceramic. Instead of delicate, it felt stale and neglected. Portions were inconsistent and seasoning was often lacking. After a minimal fish dish, we were served a bowl of raw, barely cut vegetables with bland dips — less prepared than what you’d expect from a grocery store tray. One course featured a custard served inside a half a potato that we were explicitly told not to eat. Being served an inedible element on the plate was confusing and hard to justify at this price point! The steak was acceptable but inconsistent. The final dessert had a grainy texture. The wine pairings were also poorly received — at multiple tables, a majority of the pours were left unfinished. Especially the final one. When we raised our concerns on site, we were told these were complaints they had heard before and were asked to please pay the bill. Concept is subjective. At this price point, food quality and execution are not! Unfortunately, the experience did not match the cost there are many places in Montreal giving similar immersive food experiences with better food at a fraction of the cost.
this place was great!
