Overall, the experience was okay, but there are a few areas that could be improved. Our server was friendly, but there were times when communication was a bit difficult when we had questions. We also weren’t informed that ordering was done online; we were only asked to scan the QR code, so we had to figure out the ordering process ourselves. In addition, no one checked in on our table during the meal to see if everything was satisfactory. The lamb chops were enjoyable, but the vegetables served alongside them seemed undercooked for our taste. We were also a little surprised that the dish came with spaghetti rather than noodles, as we were expecting something more in line with the restaurant’s Asian cuisine. That said, we finished our meals and found the food decent overall. With a bit more seasoning and attention to flavor, the dishes could be improvedz We appreciate the effort and wish this new place the best!
Reviews / Ratings for 1001 Nuit Cuisine Authentic
The food was overly salty, oily, and disappointing. The chicken contained a lot of fat and was undercooked, which was unacceptable. The pineapple fried rice was also poorly prepared, as the rice was mushy rather than light and fluffy. The service was equally disappointing. According to the restaurant's website, they close at 10:00 p.m. We even called ahead and made a reservation for 8:30 p.m., yet no one informed us that they would be closing at 9:00 p.m. We arrived only 10 minutes late due to traffic, and upon arrival, we were told they were already closing. To make matters worse, our table was dirty when we were seated. When we raised our concerns, the staff member simply stated that the owner was not present. This gave the impression that good service is only provided when the owner is there, which is not how a restaurant should operate. Although the restaurant serves halal food, I would not recommend it. The food quality, cleanliness, and customer service all fell far below expectations. Overpriced for no good reason.
I never write google reviews but this place was so terrible to the point where I just felt like I had to. This is some overpriced bull... 25$ for the smallest unseasoned portions. Calling it "authentic Chinese food" is so misleading as the food here was literally just Americanized Asian food (at this point just go to Manchu Wok, it would taste better anyways). On top of that the service was SO bad and the person on the phone when I was making my reservation was so rude and dismissive. After reading other reviews it seems like this is a recurring problem. The whole experience was just so disappointing. For 200$ you can afford much tastier Chinese food that's actually worth your money anywhere else. The dishes here not only looked visually unappealing but it also tasted mid. No joke, their best dish was fried rice. Yikes. Anyone rating this lace above two stars is getting paid to lie. Don't go.
Worst food ever i ate Very disappointing and so over priced
Sorry but the food was bad. I’m not sure what kind of Asian food that was. Very bland no spices. I came after seeing a Instagram review very disappointed.
This is not an authentic Hong Kong 茶餐廳, not even close, it is a Halal Chinese style restaurant. I ordered a Curry Lo Ding with beef brisket that is watery, and no taste. Baby carrot and cherry tomatoes in curry? I do not recommend this restaurant for anyone expecting an authentic Hong Kong style experience.
A bit disappointing. Food was average at best. They have yet to master the basics. The AAA Angus beef was well done and nowhere near the advertised quality.
We arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday and we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice , she brought special dishes for all the kids. We ordered four dishes the HK beef noodles and the scallops were excellent. The general Tao and beef curry were missing flavour. I think they have space for a lot of improvement but we had a wonderful time.
We were a group of 11 people and had made a reservation the day before. Unfortunately, the experience started off poorly. The welcome and customer service were almost non-existent, especially from the owner. When we arrived, we had to wait around 5 minutes just to get an answer about where we should sit. After that, the owner led us to our table and started dragging chairs around in a way that felt unprofessional and as if he was annoyed to be serving us. We ordered 11 dishes. To be fair, the Pad Thai was very good. However, the General Tao was disappointing, as it contained strange pieces that did not seem to be chicken. They looked more like tofu or something else. Another odd detail was that half of the water cups were plastic while the other half were glass, which made the service feel inconsistent. The most frustrating part came when it was time to pay. An 18% tip was automatically added to the bill, even though the service was minimal. The staff simply brought the food to the table; they did not even serve water. Overall, the food was mixed, but the service was very disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.
I had a great experience at this halal Asian restaurant. The food was delicious, everything was clean, and the service was excellent. Special thanks to Rim for her outstanding service — she is very professional, friendly, and attentive. Highly recommended!” ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ best restaurant
We had a wonderful treat tonight. We were the first customers here on their opening day, and we just came back. We tried the pad Thai, Curry Beef Udon Soup, General Tao’s chicken, and HK style Beef Noodles and we really enjoyed all of them. Their beef is very tender and the chicken is the most tender chicken I have ever tried. Taro milk tea and mango passion slush were amazing and Waffles are a must try. We will definitely go back inshallah.
Came here with a group of 7 and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. First, if you’re even a few minutes late for your reservation, your table will been given away. The attention to detail was lacking throughout the experience. The plates were served so wet that we had to dry them ourselves before using them. The biggest issue was our first appetizer, the chicken wings. They were severely undercooked - the inside was still red and bloody. We brought it to the server’s attention, he immediately agreed that it was unacceptable. At that point, we had completely lost our appetite. We told the staff that we would pay for our drinks but wanted to cancel the rest of our order and leave. To their credit, they offered the drinks on the house, which was appreciated given the circumstances. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately not one we would repeat.
Great first impression, chinese food halal in the west? Yes please and alhamdullilahhhhhh Loved the shrimp and chicken general tao the pad thai noodles and beef hit the spot and something else we ordered a bunch of plates for the table they were yummy! My 2 cents : only for nostalgia I wish the spring rolls came with a plum sauce it was a stronger sauce not my favourite. For a new resto the kitchen and serving staff are clearly hard at work much appreciated and ill be coming back again! 1/1001 nights completed 1000 to go! Parking available, easy ipad system for walk ins and reservations, clean space. Happily stuffed. Thank you!
Food was delicious and arrived fast. Favourite was the general tao
Amazing staff, great food!
Great spot to try Hong Kong food. I was warmly greeted and the food was soothing. The owner is a great guy, I will be back.
it was food but nothing special or maybe we had our hopes too high. food taste is good but depends on what u pick. They need to work on customer service!
Update 5/30/26: the owner answered my review. It cannot be a coincidence that myself and multiple other people (in the reviews) also had a bad experience at this restaurant. Despite me not being Muslim, I wanted to support a halal based restaurant based on the owner's kindness and food online. I hope he takes my comments and of those before/after me seriously, as whoever is working at the reception is representing his restaurant (for us, a lady who was on her phone when we came in and left), as this will affect their business in the future. Had I not insisted we stayed, we never wouldn't spent money at this restaurant. I sadly did not read the recent reviews before coming here. I started following the owner on Instagram before the restaurant was even ready for opening. I wanted to support him and I asked my family to come with me from downtown to his restaurant. We came May 30th, to dine in. The minute we were coming in, the girl at the reception area immediately walked away, while talking on the phone. She went all the way to the back, where the owner was. We had to get his attention and even asked him if they were open. We waited more than 5 minutes for him to come and we were the first customers of the day. We only stayed because I wanted to try the food I saw online. We had to be after the owner/waitress for individual plates, napkins and water. Not once did they check on us without asking for something. The food was alright, but not worth the almost 25$ per plate (100$ total for a fried rice, general tao, beef noodles, diet coke and spring rolls). My mom and I let the owner know that the customer service was non existent, but he seemed to be at a loss for words, as he stayed in a state of shock and then walked away without saying anything. We are a non Muslim family, and the Muslim customers coming in were warmly greeted and welcomed, while we weren't even greeted or explained to how to order (via printed out QR code). I will not be coming back and will think twice before supporting a business I find on Instagram.
Amazing food Amazing service Amazing atmosphere. Recommend everyone to come and try
The food is very good. We are currently in our soft opening phase, and we will be adding more dishes to the menu in the future.
Amazing food, service and staff keep it up
I visited this restaurant expecting authentic Chinese halal cuisine based on its branding and reviews, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The quality of the food overall was poor and did not meet expectations. The Hong Kong beef noodles were extremely watery and lacked the depth of flavor typically associated with this dish. The pineapple shrimp fried rice was underwhelming and did not stand out in any way. The lamb chops were particularly confusing — the dish seemed like an unusual fusion of Italian, South Asian, and Chinese influences, making it difficult to identify any authentic Chinese culinary roots. Having dined at many Chinese restaurants over the years, I found several menu items unfamiliar and unlike dishes commonly found in traditional Chinese cuisine. While the halal concept is appreciated and fills a niche in the market, the food itself did not reflect the authenticity that is being advertised. The restaurant has a nice concept and atmosphere, but in my opinion, its strong ratings appear to be driven more by the halal Chinese concept than by the quality or authenticity of the food. Those seeking a genuine Chinese dining experience may leave disappointed. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
The service was really bad but honestly because it was a new restaurant we didnt think too much of it. The food was very disappointing. We got the general Tao chicken, the sakura fried rice and the noodles. It did not taste fresh at all, the chicken was alright, but the fried rice was dry and tasted bland. As for the noodles, it was missing a bit of everything. When you go there just order one dish first to see if you like it.
2* because I respect what this place is doing, but my experience was poor and they need to work on some things: - we were asked to wait to be seated even though tons of tables were available because "there was 2 large groups waiting to be seated". That would be fine, but there were 2 people tables available and they don't know how to load balance, so they still had us wait until the big groups were seated to seat us on one of the several empty tables. - doesn't seem like many of the workers have restaurant experience. They don't greet you and the fact that you pay at the front after means you wait a long time before being acknowledged because other people are paying - we were finally seated and we waited 45 mins and our food didn't come. We asked about it multiple times. Turns out at the end that the wrong QR code was put on our table so I guess the food went somewhere else? Either way, the staff loosely apologized, but mostly just explained that "we ordered for the wrong table". We didn't choose the QR code that was put on our table. We decided to leave. Would like to give it another chance some day, maybe when they get more experience.
Food came very quickly. Ordering on the phone was very nice. Big portions and very good food.
