One thing is certain: the decor is splendid at Madame Chose. Located within Les Galeries Gourmandes in the Galeries de la Capitale, the restaurant has relied heavily on its interior decoration. So well, that it received an international distinction for its design.

The universe in which we want to enter: that of an eccentric and epicurean old lady. As long as playing the game, I would have liked to have been presented to us a little better about this mysterious character, a question of getting to know each other. I would have seen a large frame with a painting of this woman in the long corridor leading from the reception to the dining room, to really feel at home.

When booking, you had to choose between 4 spaces: the clearing, the pond, the garden or the kitchen. Having booked there for a business dinner, I chose the garden. A wise choice since the decor was spectacular. Magical, hushed, colorful, a dining room unlike any other. We are in full view! Curious by nature, I would have liked to have had a glimpse of the 3 other sets, but the place is so spacious that I cannot distinguish them.

The service is most attentive and pleasant, but the menu, I'm a little disappointed. Maybe because it's dinner time? It seems that no dish captures my attention. It's rare that this happens to me, but nothing really makes me want. I finally lean for the fish dish. My companion is tempted by the macaroni and cheese and wild mushrooms.

As a starter, the classic choice of soup or salad is offered to us. I opt for the salad. Nice, but without vegetables other than greenery, I get tired of it quickly.

Nicely presented, my main course turns out to be very filling for lunch time. Fondant, my fish is well seasoned, although I appreciate it more when it is pan-fried and golden. The accompaniments are also delicious, the potatoes are soft and their taste is divine. The asparagus and white carrots on the plate are also well cooked and delicate, but I can't finish my entire dish. For her part, my table companion appreciates her dish, but finds it too, a little heavy for a lunch and also leaves half of it.

In short, a pleasant dinner in a setting that is well worth the detour. We would have liked the concept of Madame Chose to be a little more advanced to give a little “wow” to the experience. But the desire to come back to visit him to test the other spaces is there. Until next time, Mrs. Thing.
