Among small sources of disorientation when we French, arrived in Quebec, there are the coffee! For us it is often like relatively strong in small doses, in a small cup. Some would argue that we only like Espressos. In this regard, I have often noticed that on hearing our accent, some Quebec servers offer us directly Espresso ! Again I'm generalizing , of course, I know Quebec who drink the espresso and French who drink juice sock drowned in milk.
However, large cups of coffee served here always surprise us a bit, as the " refill " in some restaurants.
Myself, coffee, this is not my hobby. I prefer tea. But recently a new Sherbrooke café bistro opened at 137 Frontenac Street and pleasantly surprised me. The Bistro Kàapeh held by Alberto Mexican origin and barista as well as Marie- Josée. I ordered a small latte, which was absolutely delicious , very sweet, with a subtle taste of roasted hazelnut and comforting milk warm. A delight, and yet, as I said, I 'm not coffee ! Alberto controls latte – art and customizes all the coffees , which adds a little more fun to enjoy his coffee.
The Bistro Kàapeh also offers a wide choice of dishes : grilled cheese , wraps, sandwiches , soups, nachos , pizza , bagels, etc. . I tasted one of their grilled cheese made with raisin bread from the bakery next door. It was very good and light, accompanied by a green salad. I also enjoyed their Hawaiian bagel very good for those who love the sweet and salty!
We can also buy coffee in bulk for a very reasonable sum : around $ 3.50 for 100 gr .
The atmosphere is nice and the decor is modern, nice and warm. Marie- Josée is always smiling , for sure , I will return !
