Although Magog is located very close to Sherbrooke, we rarely frequent its restaurants. That's why on this Thursday in May, in the middle of a heat wave, we wanted to find a new place with our two friends from Magog. The Pub Le Chalet imposed itself on us thanks to its magnificent terrace and its perfect menu for a happy hour that can stretch out.

When we arrived, we obviously hoped to take a seat on the large terrace with the magnificent view of the mountains and Lake Memphremagog. We had reservations for four people, but the reservations only applied for the indoor dining room. However, due to the beautiful weather, the owners have decided to move all reservations outside. We were thus very happy to join our friends at a table on the terrace, under a parasol. The atmosphere was joyful, festive and friendly, probably due to the warm rays of the sun.

We first ordered our drinks, a pitcher of local beer. The staff seemed overwhelmed, but we were surprised by their efficiency and good humor. We asked for a starter of two bites of ribs and four shrimp cooked on the grill served with an exquisite spicy mayo, offered at $1 on Thursday evenings with the purchase of a drink. We would have appreciated if our host had let us know about this special when ordering beer. Luckily, we had visited the restaurant's Facebook page, which allowed us to be aware of the specials in progress.

Our two friends and Nicolas opted for the chalet burger, a hamburger stuffed with raclette cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and homemade mayo, all served with fries and salad. All three enjoyed their dish, which was cooked and portioned appropriately.

Julie chose the chicken burger instead, topped with cranberry mayo, goat cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. The sides were the same, fries and salad. The salad being served on its own, however, she would have appreciated a certain garnish such as vegetables or a vinaigrette.

Our server did not offer us desserts or coffee before bringing us the bill, although these are on the menu. We did not hold it against him since the meal was sufficient.

With supper coming to an end, twilight bringing the beginning of darkness and the 5 to 7 ending, we left under the promise of seeing each other again, sated and happy with this delicious evening at Pub Le Chalet.
