What a discovery! For more than a year this restaurant was hidden under my nose, in my own city and I had not detected it yet. I have changed my lifestyle by integrating health food and organic ingredients as much as possible ... What a pleasure to find a restaurant that has also given this mission!

We are told that eating healthy does not mean depriving oneself ... the Monastère Restaurant is the ultimate proof! The offer is greedy and generous and we savor it without guilt.

First, the places are full of sights. Located right in the Monastère Augustine, the place has a special aura. It is accessible for both accommodation and out-of-town guests. The decor is beautiful and transports us into the world of Augustine with beautiful pictures on the wall. The decor is modern yet with touches of wood. The mismatched wooden chairs give a warming charm to the room. The soul of the restaurant is also reflected in the huge display for germination. Certainly, we have sustainable development at heart. The towels are made of fabric and exit the small pots of plastic butter. Even the products used to wash the tables are natural.

Here, no separate price, we pay a flat rate for the meal that includes the service but excludes taxes. It includes a soup, the splendid salad bar, the choice of main course between meat, fish or vegetarian dish, a dessert and a tea from the apothecary, the collection of the Monastère.

Fresh salads unmatched with fresh and organic produce. What more? Get the health property of each ingredient? We caught you in the bend, it's done with the description of salads. I could not resist making a little room for each of them, which gave the result a plate of the most colorful and most appetizing. Special mention for succulent orzo salad.

The menu is slate and the three main courses vary with each meal. During my visit, I had the choice between the Atlantic trout with parboiled and fried lichen, the chana masala with the perfume of India or the quail lacquered with honey of tea of ??the woods. I chose this one and I was at my first tête-à-tête with this miniature poultry. First, the dish was sensational, wonderfully prepared. I felt privileged, we see immediately that care and attention are required. To taste, I really enjoyed my quail, it was sweet to perfection. The mashed potatoes on the side were delicious and melting, though the fresh thyme had a good presence. It's a matter of taste, but I like it when it's more subtle. The beet and cranberry chutney was tasty and perfectly suited to white meat. The spinach pesto also offered a nice balance. The mushroom filling and spinach were superb, but a hint too salty for me, the salt came to take the place of these delicate vegetables.

For dessert, I enjoyed the refined verrine and its cute macaroon competing without discomfort with those at Ladurée.

An incomparable table, fresh and quality ingredients, creative meals, a slate menu, an exceptional salad buffet, a unique health and ecological mission, there is everything to conquer me. The Monastery's restaurant has certainly become my new favorite restaurant in Quebec City!
