Recently I had my first Chinese fondue with other French people. First I was a little disappointed that there was no Chinese there. Me who loves Asian food, I was very excited to see what it is. I imagined a meal halfway between the Korean barbecue and miso soup. I had no idea that what is commonly called a fondue in Quebec has nothing to do with what could be called in France a fondue. The only difference is that it replaces the oil in the broth.

It’s at Fondue Folie (Sherbrooke) that we enjoyed very good pieces of bison, duck, beef and other meats in the vegetable broth or Asian broth. (Only nod to China of the evening!)

At Fondue Folie , one can taste a wide variety of meat or fish and rely on a wide range of sauces. The idea is simple: when the stock is shared with a second person, you can select from three meats and five sauces. The more adventurous will choose madness package with a starter and dessert in addition to their fondue. For a very reasonable sum, the madness package satisfies big eaters. For the most reasonable, the traditional menu consists of one fondue for under $ 20!

The wine list is also very interesting and contains very good bottles.

Only downside for me, I found my mayonnaise sauces were actually quite similar. I suggest you choose a different sauce from every kind proposed: mayo, yogurt, mustard, spicy, classic or oil.

For a dinner with friends, family or lovers, Fondue Folie restaurant is unpretentious but delicious and charming like home!
