Do you know the plant-based diet? I was lucky enough to be introduced to it by friends while I was staying with them. So I was not in completely unknown territory when I pushed open the door of the Copper Branch installed in the Saint-Roch district of Quebec.

At first glance, it feels like you're in an all-too-normal fast food restaurant chain. On the door, posters show us mouth-watering burgers and neon signs display the menu.

The major difference, however, lies in the composition of the menu which is 100% plant-based. Yes! Yes! No meat, no animal by-products. And everything is done skillfully, so as not to upset the recalcitrant too much. As proof, there are sandwiches, burgers, chili, Buffalo wings, poutines and even nachos on the menu.

Since this is my first time in this type of restaurant, I still feel intimidated. There are many choices! The different types of bowls speak to me, but there are too many options, I feel lost. We must first choose the type of bowls (Mediterranean, Asian, etc.) then the base between rice, lettuce, quinoa or Konjac noodles, the composition of which I do not know. And finally a protein. But there are so many question marks in my head about all the unknown ingredients that I change my mind when I see the line behind me. My gaze then falls on the zucchini noodles with Italian Coppernata. Zucchini is my favorite vegetable! Plus, the plate is full and I wouldn't have any options to choose from, hallelujah!

While I wait for my, I explore the menu a little more carefully, without pressure. I think I would have preferred to experience it in table service. I would have liked to get advice and explain the different ingredients. It takes a long time to prepare and I wait several minutes before my tray is finally ready.

When I finally receive it, my plate looks appetizing! She smells very good. It all looks inviting. From the first bite, I am won over. For a first experience, I played a safe card. Italian flavors are comforting. On top of the zucchini spaghetti is a garnish of eggplant, chickpeas, onions, celery, olives, red peppers, tomatoes and capers sprinkled with organic feta. I love it and I greedily finish my plate. I happily bite into my bun covered with an unidentified, but oh so delicious spread.

The whole thing turns out to be a treat. But ... because there is a but. I would have gladly devoured a second serving. When I reach the end of my plate, my appetite is not satisfied and I feel like an hour from now my stomach will be in heels.

However, I want to come back. I leave with the menu printed under my arm. I will study it before I return or order, as I am hearing that delivery is offered. Here, a different option from pizza!
