Essie is an absolute rockstar! From the moment we walked in, she greeted us right away and made us feel so welcome. It looked like she was running the place on her own, yet she handled her tables effortlessly with a smile. She made some of the most delicious cocktails I’ve had, kept everything moving smoothly, and even created a personalized menu for us, which was such a thoughtful and unique touch. The food was amazing by the way. On top of everything, she brought a warm, professional sense of humour that made the whole experience even better. Her positive attitude and work ethic were seriously impressive. We’ll definitely be coming back, hoping we get Essie again!

We were 1st to make a reservation and very sorry we ever did! Our first 2 experiences were very nice. Our 3 rd not so much. The place is going downhill with extremely rude staff with chip on his shoulder poorly dressed and dirty jacket with worn out elbow marks, poor hygiene. I do not recommend. Over priced and they think they are something special. Eating out is a whole experience, from greeting to food, service atmosphere and how you feel when you leave. This was a huge disappointment.

I strongly recommend avoiding this place. The tuna was extremely disappointing and had an unpleasant taste. On top of that, the manager behaved unprofessionally. He inserted himself into our dining experience, even tasting the food and insisting it was good instead of listening to our concerns. His appearance also felt inappropriate for someone in a managerial role, as he was dressed very casually in a hoodie and sweats, which did not match the setting or expectations. I also gave only one star for the atmosphere. Overall, the food quality and service were both far below standard, and I would not return.

I rarely leave reviews, but this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Sushi Niji. The sushi was clearly not fresh. The taste and texture were off, and it was honestly concerning to eat. When we brought it to the manager’s attention, instead of handling it professionally, he made the situation incredibly uncomfortable. He actually went back into the kitchen, took our sushi, tasted it himself, and came back to tell us that in his personal opinion it was “not bad.” That completely missed the point and felt dismissive. To make matters worse, he refused to offer any refund or even acknowledge that there might be an issue. The whole interaction was awkward, frustrating, and frankly unacceptable. Good customer service would have meant listening to your customers, not arguing with them over their own experience. Between the questionable food quality and the way we were treated, this place is a hard pass. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Sushi was weird tasting and didn’t taste fresh. Manager refused to refund the completely uneaten sushi (with one spit out piece on the plate). Uncomfortable conversation.

Good food, ordered the 3 courses option. I think my favourite out of all the appetizers was the salad. It was so delicious I wish I could order 5 more after eating it. I also enjoyed both the dessert mousse and the crème brûlée, both were super delicious. Out of the main courses offered, my favourite was the classic. The ambience was great too, the decor is super nice.

It's a wonderful place to have a dinner with your couple. The sushi is great, but sometimes the plates arrive a little late. In general terms, it works very well.

This place is a gem! The sushi was incredibly fresh, high-quality, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is very cozy and stylish, making it a perfect spot for a nice dinner. On top of that, the service was excellent—friendly and professional. Everything was 10/10. Highly recommend if you are in Quebec City!💙💛

First off. Wow! What a beautiful restaurant, my daughter and I were greeted right away and seated under a beautiful sakura tree. Our server Essie took such good care of us, really took into consideration our likes and dislikes when it came to ordering our food. The food and cocktails were excellent and I'm really looking forward to coming back to try out more of their menu. Thanks again Essie for the wonderful service:)

First time in Quebec and was served ,with my party, by manager Essie. She conducted herself so professionally that I thought she must have been the owner. Best experience at a sushi restaurant I’ve ever had and at 55 I’ve had plenty of sushi dinners. The restaurant was gorgeous, and clean the food was outstanding. Thank you Essie and the owners for such a wonderful experience!
