Wow! I am walking out of this place completely fulfilled. Let me tell you about the food first. I had the tomato and pesto soup. The minute that soup touched my pallet, my mind went straight back to my trip in Sicily. I accompanied my soup with their infamous grilled cheese sandwich, which in IMO, is the best in Montreal. The service was like it used to be, back in the day. You walk in, you are immediately greeted with a warm smile and a big hello from one of the owners. Then he proceeded to tell me all about his concept, the freshness of the foods they use, the ‘homemade’ vibe they are going for and finishes it off with a soup tasting! It was hard for me to choose because they were all equally delicious in their own way. The second owner, comes from behind with big smiles and welcomes me to his place. At this point, I felt like family! The atmosphere is like no other, 80’s music playing in the background, 80’s movies on the screen, it’s clean, open, smells are amazing (I’m a scent guy) and the lighting is perfection. You would think I’m being paid for this review, but I’m not. It’s quite simply a very homie place that feels like tye good ol’days, making it super refreshing and compelling me to write this. It was so good , I got take out for my girlfriend and tomorrows lunch. Thanks Micheal and John!
Absolutely delicious food and such a wonderful experience! The food is flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. What really makes this place special, though, are the owners — they are incredibly welcoming, kind, and genuinely friendly. You can feel the warmth as soon as you walk in. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it!
Delicious food and Amazing staff. Highly recommend this nostalgic and cozy spot.
The soups here tastes like a warm hug. The service is so personable and inviting! The grilled cheese is to die for and the pasta fajiole soup was hearty and delicious. Thanks Jon & Mike!
A welcome addition to the neighborhood, feels very nostalgic/cozy with great comfort food (had the courge soup & grilled cheese). Service is warm and on point, huge shoutout to Jon & Mike on this amazing space. Do yourself a favour and come eat!!!
Absolutely a pure Diamond in the Roth establishment where every thing is worth every bite recommended La Louche 10/10
La Louche made me lose ONE MILLION DOLLARS because I told my grandma their chicken-noodle soup was better than hers and she removed me from her inheritance! Absolutely no regrets, still worth it, 5*
Finally, a neighborhood soup spot! Even better that it's run by the nicest guys on the block. The space is meant to be nostalgic and inviting, they nailed it. Exactly where you want to have a grilled cheese & tomato soup on a cold day (get the snack size!) Can't say enough good things, you have a new regular!
We went to eat for lunch at La Louche as we heard it was great and we were not disappointed. Soups were absolutely fantastic. I strongly recommend the coco shrimp soup and grilled cheese. John and Michael the owners make a very fun duo and their service was excellent. Highly recommend trying this place out.
Great and personable staff that are passionate about what they do. They seek to cultivate a distinctly nostalgic 90’s vibe. Better Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup than September. Recommend.
Highly recommend! The food was great and affordable. I had a grilled cheese and a Coco-Thai-Crevettes soup, which were both delicious. We were served by one of the co-owners, John, who was very friendly.
Portions & quality are top tier. Can’t forget the friendly service too. Such a great addition to the neighbourhood.
Great soups and grilled cheese fo a good price. Super nice owners, got the chance to sample a whole bunch of options before choosing. I’ll be back
Warm and comforting food in these incredibly cold winter days.
La Louche is my go-to happy place for when I feel like eating a delicious home-cooked meal that reminds me of home. It's a place with amazing neighbourly vibes, phenomenal flavours from fresh local ingredients, and kind-hearted people. Soups for all moods and tastes!!! A must in Saint-Henri!
Thank you Mike and John! The vegetarian chili with extra goat cheese is EXCELLENT.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I can’t say enough great things about this place! From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family, and that’s all thanks to the incredible owner, Michael. As an old-time friend, I’ve always known how genuine and charismatic he is, but seeing him in his element here is something special. He has this natural way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and right at home. His energy truly sets the tone for the entire experience. And let’s not forget his amazing partner, John! Together, they make an unbeatable team. John brings his own warmth and professionalism that perfectly complements Michael’s charisma. You can tell they both genuinely care about their customers and the quality of what they serve. The food? Absolutely delicious. Fresh, comforting, and made with care. Every bite tastes like it was prepared with pride. It’s the kind of place you come for a great meal but return to because of the people. If you’re looking for outstanding food and even better company, this is the spot. Michael and John have created something really special here. Highly recommend! 🙌
We discovered this place completely by accident today… and now we are obsessed! Simple, comforting, and absolutely delicious food. The perfect spot when you’re craving a really good home-style meal. I highly recommend the shepherd’s pie, OMG, it’s amazing! On top of that, the two men who served us were super friendly, funny, and kind. It made the whole experience even cooler and more memorable.
I recently visited the new restaurant La Louche and had such a great experience! The service was warm, friendly. You can really feel the positive energy from the team. I tried all six of their soups (yes, I had to!). It’s hard to choose favorites, but my top 2 were the tomato, mushroom. So flavorful and comforting. I’ll definitely be going back to try more. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re a soup lover or just looking for a cozy spot with great service!
The grilled cheese was perfect. Garlic butter. Two kinds of cheese. The perfect nostalgia snack. Soups fresh and homemade. Fast service.
Great addition to the area, whether to eat on location or to go. Their hospitality is as warm as their soups, which are as delicious as they are filling. The value is excellent, and I am excited to return to try their staples and evolving specials.
Great experience. Home cooking at its best. Gem of a place for a healthy home style meal. Simple and delicious!
YOU MUST try the cream of mushroom soup. I had already ordered the tasty grilled cheese with its tomato soup on my first visit, but after trying a sample of the creamy mushroom, I went back the next day because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Great, passionate guys — it’s heartwarming I to see this level of service nowadays.
Stellar soup, you gotta try them all. Great guys.
