Very good meals
Reviews / Ratings for La Cabane du Coureur
The food was amazing. It was not all you can eat, but rather a fixed menu. The portions were sufficient and we also had the possibility to take extras home which was a nice. Service was extremely nice. very good experience.
A great experience alround : delicious food (combination of the cabane à sucre classics and some inventive dishes), festive ambient, very kids friendly and a nice outdoor area for « tire » and a couple of goats and alpacas - all this close to Montreal relative to many other places. Our waiter Audrey was very kind and we shall be back!
The food was once again delicious! The service, done by Florence, was exceptionally pleasant and efficient! Thank you! We will be back soon!
Overall, Sugar Snacks has great service and a cozy atmosphere, but the food was disappointing. While they tried to be fancy with the food, for a place like Sugar Snacks we don’t expect luxury, it completely missed the mark. Flavors felt off, dishes were overly complicated, and unfortunately some of us even got food poisoning, which we believe may have been from the smoked salmon. The service was excellent, with friendly and attentive staff, plus the added convenience of valet service, though it gives a slightly tourist focused feel. The atmosphere was a highlight—very warm, homey, and inviting, making it a comfortable place to relax.
We’ve been coming here for three years now and it is always fantastic!!! Very gourmet take on all of the Cabane classics. Highly recommend and you will be even more impressed if you are served by the fabulous Florence, truly delightful!
I enjoyed the more gastronomic sugar shack experience. The atmosphere provided the look and feel of a cabane a sucre without the noise, lack of comfort and crowdy feeling of the traditional venues. Service was fantastic. The food had interesting dishes. Some of them were not to everyone's liking or dietary restrictions. That is normal but since each dish is precisely measured to the number of guests in the party, it is unfortunate. Some of us did not get to eat as much as we wished. The creativity and elevated dishes was refreshing; we did however miss the traditional prised features of a sugar shack meal. For example, the "oreilles de crisse" should be available in larger quantity than 1 per person. It would be nice to consider incorporating eggs to the menu in vague 2. The coktail and wine list is great, offering many non-alcoholic options (rather pricey though). Desserts were worth the trip, especially the pecan pie.
