What a pleasure it was to dine at Brocard on New Year’s Eve! It was wonderful to find that the food and service were every bit as good as their numerous 5 star reviews suggested. We received a warm and friendly greeting on arrival and we were immediately shown to our reserved table. Given that it was New Year’s Eve, the restaurant was busy throughout our visit. Nevertheless, the service was continuously prompt and delightful. We ordered the yalangi (stuffed grapevine leaves), shish barak (veal dumplings) and batersh (eggplant dip topped with veal in tomato sauce). Each of these mezze were exceptionally tasty. My wife also tried the “Tamer Hindi” (tamarind drink) and it was delightfully refreshing. For our mains we chose the fatet mozat (lamb in a tahini yogurt sauce) and sayadeyeh (fried cod fillet). Both of these dishes were also delicious and generously portioned for the price. We didn’t have room for dessert, but look forward to returning to try their dessert as well as many other savoury items. We highly recommend this charming restaurant.
