Job description
A cashier position in a community cafeteria involves welcoming customers, recording sales, processing payments, and balancing the cash register at the end of the shift. This versatile role often includes counter service, restocking products, cleaning the service area, and managing inventories.
Responsibilities
Cash handling: Use the cash register/computer, collect payments (cash, debit, credit), and close the register. Customer service: Greet users, take orders, and answer questions courteously. Maintenance and restocking: Keep the counter clean, refill displays (drinks, snacks, condiments), and clean tables as needed. Food support: Occasionally assist in preparing simple dishes, portioning, or serving at the buffet.
Requirements
French and Spanish is an asset. Valid work permit. Skills: Quick execution, honesty, good stress management, and ease of contact with the public. Physical conditions: Ability to stand for long periods. Experience: Experience in cashiering or food service is an asset, but often not required.
