Remember that not so long ago, Burger King had made an offer to buy 12 billion to Tim Hortons, but first had to be approved by the federal government as an acquisition by a foreign company.

James Moore, Minister of Industry, has finally agreed after receiving formal commitments Burger King like what the company will keep all current jobs in Canada, that the head office will be retained in Ontario and leases and franchise royalties remain unchanged for at least 5 years.

It remains the stage where Tim Hortons shareholders must accept the agreement, which will be decided at the special meeting on 9 December.
